On my that is easy, always loved creating with my hands I was the #1 finger painter in school, loved getting them in the ink and then on paper, or whatever else was around. I like the opportunity that it give to create with my hands and mind.

I love having a creative outlet since my day job is very analytical. Stamping and card making is perfect for that. Also, I've met so many wonderful people through this craft that I can't imagine what my life would be like without them!

Stamping doesn't come easy for me, so I do it to stretch myself & see what I can come up with. I also like sending handmade cards to family & friends. Love your blog - you're one of the few in my 'favs' folder!

I love the creative outlet stamping gives me - I feel "artistic" for the first time in my life! Aside from that, the best part is all of the friends I have made. It is such a great social activity - we get together and stamp and share some laughs. It is always a good time! Love the colors you used on your card.

For me, its a calgon moment. Something that I do for me that has nothing to do with my stepkids or my husband or the house or work...there is really a satisfaction in creating something.

Oh yay! I love paper crafting because it allows me the ability to be creative and relax at the same time!

Great candy! I love to stamp because it's just FUN. I can relax and just focus on the project at hand and forget the stressful parts about work and life. I love also being able to share the cards I make with my friends and family.

I have always been "crafty"--wood crafts at one time, then sewing crafts. I wanted to make a special "from the heart" valentine for my husband and it evolved from there..I soon discovered stamping and all the other "goodies" that go along with card making. Now that I'm retired I have lots of time to do things I enjoy. I love making new cards every few weeks and surprising my friends with them.

Anonymous said...

I love crafting because it just gives me some...."me" time. I also enjoy giving handmade gifts.

Beautiful card! I love stampind and card making because it is soothing. When I'm having a rough day I always find that stamping and making things relieves stress.

Anonymous said...

I like that it brings me back to the day so coloring on the floor in the living room when I was little. I love that what you make is totally original and can't be bought anywhere. I love the "ooohs and ahhhhs" when you give something to someone and they can't believe you "MADE" it.

Let's see....I love stamping because it helps my creativity flow and I don't have to worry about whether or not I can draw whatever image. I love it also because it's stress free and actually reduces the stress in my life. Fun, easy, not illegal, easily shareable, and reduces stress.

I cant draw or paint free-hand, so I cheat with stamps! and it is so delightful to be able to create like that! esther

I have been addicted to pens and paper for as long as I can remember and when I saw stamps and ink for the first time, that's all it took! I can't draw stick people but stamps enable me to be creative without having much actual artistic talent! I also love being able to personalize a card for the recipient instead of having to settle for whatever Hallmark comes up with.

Anonymous said...

I think it's as simple as I love to color. I'd look dorky sitting around coloring out of a "My little pony" coloring book so I do this instead.

Anonymous said...

This is an easy question to answer. I love to stamp because it's the one thing that I can do in my home full of boys that just about me. I just such a sense of satisfaction when I look at what I've been able to put together. I've also met so many cool people through stamping.

Anonymous said...

Oh wow great give away.
Why do I love cardmaking/rubber stamping, it would have to be the creative outlet it provides in a smaller area, cards are easier to design and create than spending the time on a 12x12 scrapbook layout.

Adelina said...

I love rubber stamping and card making for a couple of reasons. I really needed a creative outlet outside of my creative job. I also really enjoy the immediate gratification of making small projects like cards. Since I've started my blog, I've enjoyed meeting other crafters that enjoy the hobby as much as me. It's nice to share with others and I really enjoy the feedback on my creations.

Anonymous said...

i love stamping for the artistic outlet. i also love scrapping, but making a card is a quicker reward!

Anonymous said...

Instant gratification! Love to see it all come together right in front of me! Thanks so much! Sue Symens

Anonymous said...

I think that stamping and creating lets me have an outlet for the creativity that I don't always know how to show in other ways...if that makes any sense. I can be creative when scrappin' or making a card, but when it comes to other areas of life, I can never get it to show the way I can with stamping! Oh, and of course, I love to be able to have a hobby that connects me to so many wonderful people!

Hope I win!

I love stamping because there's no pressure. Well, okay, once in a while I get behind on a project or two, lol!! But not like scrapbooking ~~ I was always interested in scrapping, but was afraid I'd fall wayyyyy behind on my pictures. I'm a couple of months behind now, & all I do is date them & stick them in an album!!! Stamping lets me be creative, use all the fun things like papers & ribbons, but I'm not years behind on my kids photos!

Anonymous said...

I love my quiet time!! the after bed time scrapping and stamping jst helps to relax me!! Once a month a circle of friends get together and take turns at each others houses and scrap and create!
(discuss are husbands and kids alot too!!)Thanks for such a great insirational blogg,,,

Well growing up my family was a very athletic family with no one who has any artistic talent to pass on to me...then I got talked into trying to make home made cards...and I thought oh no way..not me, these hands are for catching, throwing and made for dirt and mud...paper, ink, stamps...WHAT!~ I must say that I really got discouraged many times but BAM I made a nice card and people oooed and aaaed over it and it felt sooooo good then I made another and another and more ooos and aaaas and so here I am 4yrs later and I'm making cards and all kinds of other things. Everytime I finish a project, I'm still so amazed that it all came from me...I CAN really do it!

I used to only scrapbook. . .had always wanted to get into cardmaking, but figured that was another hobby I'd have to keep up with. Well, I jumped in a year and a half ago. . .and I haven't looked back. I love cardmaking, because this is something I can do to use my creative juices, but also share it with those I love! It's such a simple little thing yet the recipients are amazed that I made it! I love making them feel special with a homemade card!

Why do I love rubberstamping & cardmaking?

I can’t remember NOT loving to draw, color, cut, and paste. Oh, the excitement of my mother buying my back-to-school supplies – a brand new box of Crayola crayons, pencils, packs of paper untouched by human hands, ungunky paste, and a zip-up pencil pouch for my new notebook. I think I was more excited about these things than the new school clothes. Even before that I remember carrying a tiny spiral pad and pencil with me wherever I went. I would pester anyone and everyone to write or draw something for me to copy. As I grew up, I realized I would never be a “real” artist as drawing is definitely not one of my gifts. However, I was very artsy-crafty – I think I have dabbled in everything from macramé to ceramics to making jewelry to gardening. Then I was blessed with a granddaughter who, as soon as she could hold a jumbo crayon in her tiny little hand, loved to color. It all came back to me - a flood of memories of crayons, paints, paper, and paste. First, (after buying tons of coloring books, crayons, coloring pencils, paints, construction paper, puzzles, and paste for HER) I started making cards on my computer. That was fun and they were beautiful, but I wasn’t getting that hands-on satisfaction. Then I started scrapbooking. Wow, that was mind boggling for a beginner, but I was having so much fun. I made mini albums for my husband & mother-in-law and a few cards. They were BEAUTIFUL and so appreciated. My first 12x12 was a wedding album for my nephew – a surprise gift for the bride. When I asked for photos, I received a CD with 180 images. Needless to say, it took weeks to edit, enhance, crop, resize, and print the photos and make the album. Plus an investment of at least $175. When I presented it to them, they said they loved it. It is AWESOME and everyone who has seen it oohs and aahs over it. But after all my investment of time and money, they never took 15 minutes to send a thank you card. Maybe I’m just a little old fashioned - don’t people send thank you cards anymore? But that’s a whole blog in itself. I could have made a card and spent $50 on their china. LOL

So why do I love rubberstamping & card making? SATISFACTION.
All the above plus you get instant satisfaction when you complete a card (a few minutes to a couple of hours versus weeks for a 12x12 scrapbook for me). Most people who receive a handmade card are very appreciative (more satisfaction). Rubber stamps allow me to “draw” anything I want and then embellish it with colored pencils, paints, crayons, embossing powder, inks, water colors – the choices are almost endless (more satisfaction – I can’t draw but I can CREATE). Plus I get to collect all those beautiful papers, stamps, inks, pens, embossing powders, paints and tools. Even when I don’t feel creative, I love to go to MY room, look at all my BEAUTIFUL stuff, and BREATHE. And before you know it, I feel creative. Last, but certainly not least, I have found a whole network of creative, generous, caring, interesting people who share my passion.

Sorry this is so long. How can one person be AR and have this problem too?

aka TiggersMom

I absolutely love paper crafting and making cards because it brings out the best of my creativity. Lately I'm limited to the amount of time I'm able to create because I have 4 children home for the summer. Apparently I was placed in the cruise director position. Then we went to a local craft store's card making classes. Got HOOKED on this too. They we went to a ladies house and started attending her Stampin' Up! classes. Now we were hooked on SU. We've both become demonstrators. She is a "hobby" and I have classes and sell some to support my habit - Stamping & card making. Got to say I stumbled onto your site from Splitcoast Stampers (a WONDERFUL resource). Love your site. When do you have time to do anything but stamp and post pictures and more...

It could be cards, it could be making quilts, it could be growing the most wonderful roses. I think its the creativity and individuality that is the draw. Give a box of stuff to 10 people and if no one copies, you will have 10 different looks. NO too tomatoes in the garden, no two paper peicings, no two loafs of bread. It is such a draw to be able to create anything and feel good about it.

What a great question! I love to make cards, gifts and scrapbook because it lets your imagination just go and is so fun to come up with new things.

For the last two years it has been my therapy while my 7 year old has battled a cousin of cancer. To be able to go to the craft area and just be was great. However, I have not had much time since she was my main focus.

Now since I had to quit my real job I am beginning to use making cards, gifts as a business. So that is very exciting to see if it will take off.

I am primarily a digital artist/papercrafter relying on digital prints/papers to create my cards. I am getting back to stamping because it provides so many more options and techniques than a digital print can provide. Stamping can expand your creativity and gives my eyes a break from the computer screen ROFL! I love your blog! Beautiful work :)

Cute and colorful card! I love cardmaking and scrapbooking, because it my little piece of heaven. I feel so relaxed when I create. In addition, I love to see my boys look over their finished pages. I am so glad I found this great great hobby!

Great candy! I love to scrapbook to preserve my kids life stories (after a house fire when I was young, I only have a handful of picture from my childhood). I love to stamp because the artist's canvas is so small, I can create a finished project in a short amount of time. Somehow, it satisfies a need to "make something". Those of us who love this craft, get it.
thanks!

Papercrafting is my outlet to relax. Having 3 kids it gets pretty crazy but it's nice and relaxing especially coloring the images. I also like the shopping part too. You can never have enough stamps or paper. :)

I love cardmaking because it really takes my mind off of everything else. I work in a high stress profession and it is nice to lose myself..you know, when it feels like 2 hours but it's really been 5. :)

Your card above is very beautiful! I just love the colors you chose.

I love card making and rubber stamping as it is a creative outlet for me. My real job is very detail oriented and doesn't allow for much creative thinking. I love the instant gratification of seeing something beautiful easily go together with paper, ink and embellishments. My other favorite hobby (beading) doesn't go together so quickly (and since time in my life is a huge factor) rubber stamping is my go to hobby.

I love stamping because I can lose myself in the pretty colors and textures and actually make myself slow down and do selfishly something for *me*, that I can then give away selflessly to make someone else feel nice. Funny how making something for others can help oneself so much.

I love card making and rubberstamping because it allows me "me time." I also like to send homemade cards rther than store bought cards. Oh, did I tell you...I also have an addiction with shopping? Rubberstamping and cardmaking allows me to feed my addiction.

I actually started stamping as sort of physical therapy, believe it or not. I had a serious neck injury, and while put on 6 very different and powerful medications, my physical therapist was worried about my emotional health...so, she encouraged me to "try" to do something more at night than just go straight to bed after a painful day of working. Since I was an avid scrapbooker prior to my injury, I decided to try a new technique on each layout, giving me a bit more of inspiration. I self-taught stamping, and made many poor choices in my initial purchases. I ultimately attended a SU workshop and that was it for me. I found myself mending emotionally as well as physically, and had something to look forward to doing! What I like about card-making, is that I should be able to make a card fairly quickly...I tend to work very slowly on my scrap pages, so to be able to finish a project in one night (cards) is a bonus! I like the choices of product on the market and the versatility of a good stampset! You can make many many different things with one image!

Thanks for taking the time to share on your blog!

I started rubber stamping about 5 years ago when I was introduced to it by a co-worker. She was so excited to have me to a demo party, because she did not know many people who would even try it. Well, one party and I was hooked. My sis has played around with individual stamps, but until I expressed how great it was, she decided to give it a try as well. Well now it's my form of stress reliever and a phappy place for me when it has'nt been a great day at the office or just to make something from my heart for friends and relatives. Everyone I make a card or project for or enjoy sharing how to, just gives me a feel that is hard to explain. One of accomplishment and joy! Thanks for the great blog and all of you wonderful creations, they are truley inspiring! Dorothy Freber

What an easy question! I love to be creative and produce something that I can give away to others. It's the one thing in my life right now that is for ME! With a 4 year old and a 2 year old, it's how I take care of myself and do something I enjoy. Since motherhood is so much about other's needs. I love it!

I became addicted to rubber stamping when I decided I wanted to make my own cards for giving. I love the entire process of "creating" and coming up with something pretty. When I create a card, it's almost always with someone in mind. I feel that the card is a gift in itself. It's a tiny piece of art. :)

I love it b/c it makes me happy. It lets me be creative and puts a smile on others when they receive what I have made. What's better than that?

I love stamping and papercrafting because it has made me an "artist." I'm left-handed and should be naturally creative and well maybe I am...but I have never been what I considered "artistic." (I'm the one who can't draw a stick man.) There are no "mistakes" and no art teacher telling me that what I've done is "right or wrong!"

I think all of us are creative in some way or another! Cardmaking and other papercrafting lets me do my thing without having to draw a straight line; it lets us express our creativity without having to the infinte design work.

I love rubber stamping because it is so versatile and creative. I love giving hand-made gifts and now I have a hand-made card to go along with the gift. Also unlike some other crafts (knitting, crochet, sewing) you can spend a relatively small amount of time and come up with something great or of course you can spend a lot of time on it too. It fits into my schedule no matter how busy I am.

I love the creativity and playing with friends. I like to be challanged and learning new techniques. And love to look at others artwork because it inspires me to just keep stamping.

My Best Friend from University introduced me to stamping / card making in October 2006. This was soon after I decided to finally stop drinking and get treatment. I have a rough year with the physical problems associated with drinking. On top of all of that, I need a hip replacement at the age of 33!

Stamping has kept my spirits positive, bringing my best friend who is on the East coast (I am in CA)and I even closer.

IT has enabled me to start becoming that person I really was before I started drinking. I enjoy showing my creativity and of course I love the compliments I get from the cards. That really helps with my self esteem.

My hip replacement surgery is finally a go, on July 20. Two days before my 34th birthday. But the more important birthday is my first year of sobriety which I will celebrate in Hawaii on October 6 2007.

My sobriety is due to my will power to live, my friends and family, and stamping!
