Just Some Random Cards...

I haven't been posting much on my blog.... I guess I've been a little off in my stamping and taking a bit of time off. Here are some random challenge cards I've made in the past couple of weeks.

Pick a favorite card and maybe.... just maybe..... you'll be the winner of some blog candy. I've been cleaning out my studio and have lots of new goodies that need to be passed on to someone who will make better use of it than I did.

Thanks for reading!

Tri-Shutter Cards

I recently came across some tri-shuttered cards on sCS and just LOVED the look! I've been making the top version for all the graduation parties that my dd is invited to. They are really a pretty easy card to make but look really complicated at the same time.

The bottom card was made for today's International challenge on SCS so I used french stamps.

Thanks for looking & let me know what you think

Off to Paris

We've been planning my daughter's trip to Paris, so I have France on my mind! The paper is from Graphic 45 and just has a French feel to it (at least for me), so I dug out my Crafty Secrets set and started stamping. I really forget to use colored inks when I'm stamping.... I get in my "stamp in black and color it in" rut and never touch the dozens of colored ink pads sitting on my shelf! For this I used Old Olive, Ruby Red & Black for the main image.

Let me know what you think.

Acetate Images

What a fun challenge this was!! It's SCS Technique challenge TLC224 called Acetate & Color. Basically you choose a picture and print it out on acetate in black and white, then color the reverse side. It's so vibrant!!

The first card features a photo of poppies that I really quickly colored with red and green. When I say really quick I mean it litererally took me like 30 seconds to complete the coloring. I cut it out with spellbinder dies and layered it over vanilla & black cardstock. The off-white flower is a Prima. I used up this whole package in a week and now need to run to Michaels for more - I just love 'em!

The second card features a sunflower image with was colored with copics and cut down to a scalloped rectangle with spellbinder dies. The designer paper is from October Afternoon & Imaginisce. I used lots of dotted textures and patterns on this one!

Thanks for looking! If you get a chance check this challenge out on SCS - it was soooooo much fun!

Cool Caardvarks Challenge

Caardvarks will be unveiling a new challenge today with a huge prize from Club Scrap. The book I made is the Wired Book from Club Scrap. The kit comes with all the supplies and instructions to assemble the multicolored book. I love the beaded binding!

I used a package of big Prima flowers in white for the decoration on the front cover. The hunted around for a paper that would look good with the book colors and found We R Memory Keepers "White Out" paper line. It was girly enough for my daughter's book yet matched the base project really well.
See the cool binding I assembled with wire, beads and waxed linen.

I included 5 sheets of notbook paper on 3 of the album sheets for a total of 15 extra sheets of journaling paper.

Added little pockets to hold stuff.... pictures, mementos, concert ticket stubs... lots of things that teenage girls collect and hold on to.

There are lots of pages for photos as well. I added little scap tabs for her to journal on.

Isn't this a cool project??? It was a ton of fun and I just loved how it turned out. It's gonna be Sierra's summer memory book so hopefully she'll have fun filling it up.

Want a chance to win some cool club scrap stuff? Take a peek at the challenge on the Caardvarks blog and be entered to win. You can also click on the logo below and it'll take you right to the club scrap site if you feel the need to do some shopping!

Prize: Huge assortment of Club Scrap product -- a sheet of UM rubber, Club Scrap exclusive projects, a POP (pound of paper), plus a whole lot more!
Check it all out on the Caardvarks blog. Contest starts today and will run through June 17. Have fun!

Yoga Girls

These cool images arrived in the mail about 2 weeks ago and I finally got a chance to concentrate on stamping for a few hours yesterday so I could use them. They are brand spankin' new from American Art Stamp and are drawn by a new illustrator as well.... Robin Pickens.

Totally cute or what??? Let me know which card is your favorite. Thanks for looking.

Something Cool To Check Out

The Virtual Stamp Convention is taking place on the Rubber Stamp Chat Forum. The Rubber Stamp Chat Forum is just like SplitCoast Stampers and Rubber Stamp Planet in that anyone can participate and view the forum.

The Virtual Stamp Convention is hosted by the forum twice a year. The vendors post their convention specials in a special space (the Convention Hall) on the forum. The specials can be anything of the vendors choosing, from buy 3 get 1 free, to a percentage off to whatever.

There are some great sales posted already including one from American Art Stamp, The Cat's Pajamas, and My Favorite Things as well as many, many others.
