New Toys!!!

Just received my first shipment of new stuff from Stampin' Up!! I was so excited to cut into new rubbah today and get started on a new project - I used the Seasonal Whimsy set first for today's SCS challenge. There is ALOT of embossing powder on this card!! The main image is stamped in chocolate chip craft ink and embossed with clear EP, the background of it is watercolored with WW crayons. The French Flair image is also stamped in pigment inks and completely embossed with clear EP. It does give it a funky look!
-
Someone recently used a paper crimper on their project - I forgot about mine... buried under a whole bunch of other "must haves" that I used for awhile then put away. I crimped the sentiment on this one, then attached it with eyelets, letting it bridge up in the middle. The strip of apricot at the bottom is also crimped.

-
The western card is the first card I've made in ages just to make... I didn't have a challenge, theme or design call in mind when making it.... it was kinda refreshing! I designed the entire card around the piece of designer paper from Linen Prints paper pack - I was going to use it on the first card but it just didn't go together. I do like it on this card though! The lasso was made with a linen string and just wrapped around the card and adhered with mini glue dots.

Which one do you like? Leave me a comment and let me know.

I'm going away for a few days and will be giving away the BLOG CANDY when I return - so pass along the word to your friends to stop by and leave a comment (on that post) about why they like to stamp and make cards.

I really like the paper crimper for the sentiment! You inspired me to get mine out and use it on something.

Both totally awesome cards! I have been waiting to see some cards done with the stamp in your first card.

Both cards are great. I frequently use my paper crimper and really like the dimension it adds - luv the effect with metals. The cowboy card would be perfect for all those C&W fans out there - including 2 of our 4 sons.

That's a tough one! I'll pick #1. Both cards are great for different reasons. I love the use of the crimper on card #1 and tend to forget that I own one. Maybe I better take it out of the drawer and put it on my desk. lol Thanks for the inspiration.

I love the look of your first card. I too rarely use my crimper, I came across it today in my cleaning. I see I'm going to have to use it now. How inspiring.

I love the crimped paper on the first card, but I think I like the overall feel of the second card better. So much going on ... it's really fun & interesting! TFS.

Both your cards are great, but I seemed to be pulled towards the Seasonal Whimsy one. You have such detail on them.

Both cards are so incredible. The colors on the first are vibrant and unique. But because I am a true country girl from Montana, I really love the second. That new set from SU is one of my first buys, and I can't wait to use it.

I have a paper crimper that I bought last summer and I've never used it! Thanks for the inspiration to pull it out. I love the little scroll for the star stamp on your western card. Very creative cards; thanks for sharing!

Too hard to choose. But, even though I live in cowbow country, I'm going to #1 just for the crimper! Both are truly inspiring however.

Tough choice since both cards are really great! - As with almost everyone commenting I liked the Crimping on card #1 and the Lasso on card #2 - Over all I like card #2 the best because I love Western themed stuff but card one is also wonderful. Ida

Western card is my fave though both are soooo cool!!

I like them both but my favorite is the bronco one. My DD is pregnant with my first grandchild and is doing the nursery with a Western theme so I am all about that right now. I haven't got my order in yet but have been dying for that stamp set. So thanks for sharing such a great example of it.
