Something about this elephant from DRS Designs is just irresistable to me! He's (or she) has the cutest face... and it so much fun to color in! I used my Copics for this one and used shades of Warm Grey for his body and shadows. This is my favorite of the greys. I added just a touch of pink inside the ear to match the pink background.
When I color with copics I like to start with the dark colors first and add shadows to the areas I think would need it. For the elephant I started with W-5 for the bottom of the trunk, behind the ears and near the toes. W-3 was used next and added over the top of W-5 so they blend in together without a hard line. The remainder of the elephant was done in W-1 and, again, I colored over the areas previously colored with W-3. The great thing about Copics is that you can continue to color over the same areas until the blending is to your liking.
The second elephant was done in shades of Cool Grey, with light purple added in. I used a warm grey on her toenails :)
Which grey do you prefer?
