Fall Colors for Spring?

Today's SCS color challenge featured colors that I would normally think of for fall cards, but it was a nice twist to try to make cards for spring with them instead!

The first card was made with the Summer Cool stamp set from Imaginisce. I stamped the flowers on cream cardstock from PTI, then colored them with a variety of colors from Olive to yellow/orange. I wasn't sure how it would look, but I was really happy with the way the colors blended into eachother. The frame around the sentiment is also included in the stamp set, which is currently on sale for $4.25 for 6 stamps!
The second card features an American Art Stamp set called "Friendship" - I love these whimsical stick chicks! I used some scraps from K&Company's Que Sera Sera paper for the background strip and the paper pieced dress and flower pots. I stamped the main image on colored cardstock for a different twist. The gold hinges are from a package of Grungeboard. I bought a package about a year ago and I still have a ton of pieces... this stuff lasts forever!

Which card do you like best?

Both cards are nice but I would have to say that the second one is my favorite. I love all the added embellishments...the chipboard hinges are awesome. For some reason the colors pop out at me more on the second one. Just love it!

Hey, Michelle,
I love the second one. It's just so pretty and delicate. What did you use to make the oval with the cutouts? Was it Nestabilities? I still don't know all the equipment to use, but I really like that look. Thanks for sharing with us!
Love'n stuff,
Sandy :)
