My Favorite Blog Hop!

Welcome to the mid month MFT Blog Hop featuring BC Dzyns and MFT Presents sets. If you're just jumping into the hop on my site and would like to see the whole hop start to finish them please take a leap over Kim's Blog so you can start at the beginning. Once you get to the end of the hop you'll meet our Hot To Trot designer who will be giving away some goodies... so don't drop out in the middle or you'll miss out!

I made a Valentine card and matching treat box using the new BC Dzyns set. I stamped the main image on vanilla cardstock and colored it in with Copic markers. The hear was stamped over the fold of a small card, then cut out and a layer of Basic Grey paper was glued to the top, so there is a little card on the front of the card.

Inside of the mini card is a sentiment from the set - "we belong together".

The front of the heart is decorated with another sentiment from the set "U + Me = {heart}. I used a Queen & Co heart shaped brad over the heart image on this sentiment and popped the whole thing up on dimensionals. The Petaloo flower at the bottom started it's life white, but I colored it with a copic marker to match the other colors on the card. I added a Basic Grey button and another brad to the embellishment combo.

The little box measures 2x3x1 and is made with half a 8.5x11 sheet of paper - I love projects that don't take up much paper!! Stop back for more details on that box when I have time to put a template together - probably after CHA.

The next card was made with the Isabella paper doll set and the brand new sentiment set to match!! This set has some adorable sentiment similar to the 'Silly little bear' that was used here. I stole a sentiment from the first BC Dzyns set for the bottom... "I wish you were here". The bear's outfit was paper pieced with Basic Grey paper from the Bittersweet line.... isn't it sweet? Rather than cutting a hole in the bear costume to show the girls face I just stamped her face and the bear head on a piece of vanilla paper and trimmed out the circle. Pretty easy techinque!

The last card features the mermaid costume from the same set and another sentiment from the new sentiment set... "Best Fishes". I used K&Company paper from the Mira line for the watery background, then stamped a school of fish which were colored with copics. The mermaid tail was stamped on DCWV glitter paper then cut out and adhered to the main image.

Your next stop is Tammy - our Hot To Trot designer this month... she has some terrific samples and goodies on her blog Stamp Happy - so hop on over there for a peek!
