Happy Halloween!

I just love Halloween!! Okay maybe it's the colors.... Orange is my favorite color, with black being my favorite to wear... and then you throw in purple and green as well so it makes for a fun color combo. Yeah... my world revolves around color.

I made a fragmented card today... I used to make these quite a bit with little bits and pieces cut out, matted and arranged on the card but have gotten away from it with the larger line images that are currently on the market. This set from October Afternoon (sorry - it sold out within the first week of carrying it) is perfect for this kind of card. I used paper from Basic Grey's Ambrosia 6x6 pad for it. I love the grey and orange together! I paper pieced the eye in the lighter orange shade for a little contrast and to match the sentiment running up the side. I wouldn't have planned it that way but I ran out of the darker orange paper and didn't have a scrap long enough to fit the sentiment. Sometimes these "mistakes" turn out for the best though because I think I like this way more than I would have liked the darker orange - kwim?

Everyone cross your fingers today and wish my daughter good luck in her last X-Country meet... it's sectionals and if they win then then go on to the state meet which they've been able to do before. They are soooooo close to being able to beat the team that wins every year so we really need to send good luck her way at about 11:30am Eastern time - okay? Plus she's been battling with knee problems and going to PT for the past 2 weeks trying to recover from an injury just for this meet. Hopefully I'll have good results to share with everyone later today.

::::UPDATE::::

I anyone out there sent good luck wishes my dd's way THANK YOU!!! They came in first place at their sectional meet and are now headed to the state championship. My dd is #850 in the middle of the picture. I'm so excited and happy for her!!

Don't forget about the Blog candy posted a couple of days ago. I'll pick a winner over the weekend so you don't want to miss out!! Thanks for reading!
