Background Sponging

I love sponging color for backgrounds and my favorite way is with an Inkessentials blending tool with foam blenders. I bought this from my LSS a few months ago and have used it on about half the cards I've made since then. The main image on this card was stamped with brown ink on vanilla paper. I used the blending foam to sponge a ltitle spring green (papertrey) around the tree image, then I used summer sunrise (papertrey) as the next color and finished off with only orange around the edges. I also added some only orange sponging on the dp edges to keep it all coordinated.
The same technique was used with this image - I used orange on the bottom, summer sunrise next, then finished off with lemon tart at the top. I love stamping this set as a silhouette image using only black for the stamping. This set is currently on sale at MFTstamps.com - so is the sentiment set!
I'm going to try to get a shipment of these for the store, so if anyone is interested in them please sign up for the paperaddiction.com newsletter by visiting the site and logging on as a user. Don't forget to check the box that says newsletter at the bottom of the form!

Thanks for looking and let me know what you think of these 2 cards.

I love the deep rich depth you get from the blending foam. I need to grab mine more often.

Love the cards ... those are my colors that's for sure. Sponging is a technique I use often that's for sure. Hey are you doing an ATC swap anytime soon? Now that school is back in full swing I'll be having time to play just a bit and would like to join up if you do. Perhaps an ATC with a sponged background (?) ... just a thought. Have a great day and thanks for sharing your art with us!
