Friendship Blooms

Gina K Preview - Day 3
I just love this green paper!!! I've been using it so much lately that I'm sure everyone is getting tired of seeing it, but it's almost gone so there shouldn't be too many more of these projects coming your way. This one is simple, a scalloped circle that was stamped with black ink then colored with Prisma Pencils. I love how the colored pencils show up on the darker paper, still vibrant without using a white background! The edges of the oval were punched with a paper punch.

Here is a closeup of the coloring on the green paper. I also added some white gel pen dots to the flowers.

I used the new Friendship Blooms set on both of these cards - it will be released on Friday June 20 in Gina K's store (it's the Free with Three set, so you can only get it if you purchase 3 other sets!). I wanted to try a lighter looking card, but it didn't work out that way once I added the red matting. I colored the main image with Copics, then trimmed it and paper pieced the vase.

The flower vase is popped up on dimensionals. This is such a pretty bouquet, and perfect for lots of occasions.

For the sentiment I cuttlebugged a small square with a 2x2 embossing folder, then it was punched in a scalloped square Marvy Uchida punch. The center square has the sentiment stamped on it.

Oh I love, love, love this -- the big bold holes in the scallops really work it -- and the image comes to life with your coloring! I usually do different colors of scallops over backgrounds, and I love the way you made this monotone work, with YOUR magic makin' it POP. Great job.
I want to say how much I love this set HERE, because I just won Asela's new set and I don't want to comment on Gina's blog because that's not fair to enter after just winning ;^)* But Gina, I LOVE your new Free With 3 set! Can't wait to see more of the set...
