Can You Dig It?

I made this little seed tin with a Nugget Tin that Kim from MFT gave me over the weekend. I know she doesn't sell them on her website, but they are available on Papertreyink ofr $2.00 a tin. I used a new stamp set from MFT that will be released on Wednesday 4/2/08 during our cocktail party from 9pm until 11pm in the MFT Forum on SCS - the set is called "Can You Dig It?".

I knew I wanted a little handle on the top of the tin so I had a place to tie the ribbon and attach the tag, so I cut a piece of Ranger Grunge Board into a 3" x .25" strip, inked it with olive chalk ink then attached it to the tin with brads. I used my crop-a-dile to punch small holes in the tin about 3/4" down and 1.5" apart. The grungeboard is really cool... it looks like a little leather handle!

Inside the tin are 4 seed packets - each one inside an envelope made with brown dp from K&Company. I'll have a template to make the seed packets and I'll post it on my blog tomorrow. I also made little bands to slip around the packet. I stitched the edges with my sewing machine, then added little cut outs of mini seed packets (from the new set). They fit in the tin perfectly!

The gardening girl was paper pieced together. I stamped her dress with the polka dot set from Behind The Scenes (also MFT)then colored the rest with Copics. She is attached to the front of the clear cover with glue dots. To answer Cassie's question... the flowers on her hat are pink glitter and pink pearl stickles dotted over the flower pattern.

Thanks for looking! Let me know if you're interested in a template to make the seed packet envelopes - and also let me know what you think of this project!

I am so excited about this set!! My mom loves to garden so I see using this for many cards for her in the future!!

One question - are those rhinestones on her floppy hat? They look sparkly, but seem different than most of the gems that I see used. Like they are actually "set" in a metal.
Thanks!

Michelle,

I have an enterprising thought for you....have you considered creating a "packet" containing all the materials (stamps, DP, embelishments, stickers, etc)needed for your project/card for the day. I would most definitely buy the stamp set, paper, tin, etc. used in your set today. Just a thougth....

I think the work you do is wonderful and I always look forward to opening my email to see what you have created.

Thanks and have a great day!
