Teen Valentines Day Set

I made this as a present for one of my daughters for Valentines Day. When Gina K's daughter Alicica K released this set last month I knew I had to buy it for my girls. They love Anime!!

I started out making the box first. It was made with 4 coasters - 2 of them cut in half to measure 2x4 and 2 of them left in their original size 4x4. I covered them with designer paper, sanded and distressed the edges, then punched holes in all 4 corners of each one. To tie the box together I ran organdy ribbon though the holes along the top, going inside on the corners and outside on the flat sides. I repeated for the bottom and tightly tied the ends in bows. The bottom of the box is 2 x 3 7/8 and sits on top of the ribbon inside of the box - there is no need to glue it in becuase the ribbon holds it in place.

The pendant was made by coloring Anna Mae's image and sandwiching it and some dp for the back between 2 microscope slides. I held this all together with 2 clothespins while I carefully taped the edges with tin tape. Both the slides and tape were purchased at my lss - but they are also available online at Oriental Trading Company.

Once the pendant was complete, I wire wrapped it in 18 gauge wire to create the pendant bail. I then used a mixture of pink beads and silver chain to finish off the necklace. It look pretty neat on..... perfect for a teenage girl!

I also made a little box for the inside of the chipboard "bag". I actually stumbled on the perfect size by using some scraps that I had from the rest of the project! The top was made with a 9" square sheet of dp, the bottom used a 8.75" square. I can post the instructions for the box tomorrow if anyone is interested just let me know.

Thanks for looking... let me know what you think!

When I first looked at this stamp, I thought it was a stamp of you! You or not, it's really cool, especially for a teenager. And I like the new Lizzie Ann Far East stuff, too. You always get me thinking - thanks and looking forward to your next 200+ posts!

I love this idea, and the papers you picked were great. I have a question though. Does the box goes inside the coaster bag? Can't wait to go to Outback and snag some coasters, hehehe.
