A Gina K Scrappy Day

I just got this new Gina K stamp set in the mail yesterday, so I quickly cut it apart and stamped out some images that I could color while watching the Syracuse University basketball game on TV. I fell in love with the nice flowers in this set... perfect for coloring in!

I used copics on all the flowers... just randomly choosing colors with no thought to putting them together later on. The images are stamped on vanilla cardstock with vintage brown sponged edges.

Once the game finally ended and I had about 9-10 images colored in I headed for my studio to make up some cards. Since my scrap bag is really getting out of control I decided to limit my cards to only paper from my scrap bag. I also limited my embellishments to things that I tore off other cards or recycled in some way. I made little piles of paper scraps that matched up with the colored images, then started piecing them on a a sheet of cardstock. I used my Lizzie Anne designs zig zag stich to "stitch" the different patterns together. I like how it just looks like a crazy quilt, with on main image and a sentiment.

Once I got started these cards were really quick to put together. I probably spent about 10 minutes on each one, glueing down the dp and stamping the zig zags. The only "new" paper I used was for the card bases.

Challenge! I'd love to see what everyone else can come up with using just their paper scraps, one stamped image and a sentiment. I challenge you to use up some of your scraps! Post a link to your photos in the comment field - you can upload to your gallery on SCS or your blog....

Thanks for looking!

Oh how wonderful! I love the images - and the way you used your scraps to create sort of a quilted look. They are so soft and pretty and make me think of my favorite person; grandma. (that's a good thing!) The first 2 are my favorites out of all the ones you've posted but truly they are all great.

Oh, those cards are absolutely wonderful. I have the same scraps obsession. I keep mine selected by colour and put in page protectors in a box so whenever I want to make a card I pull out just the colours I need without having to dig through a ginormous :) pile of scraps. Just yesterday I uploaded this project using scraps: http://handmadebymeda.blogspot.com/2008/02/for-my-hunny-pentru-draga-mea.html
If you look through my SCS gallery: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=123950 or the other portfolio links listed on my blog you will find more cards like that.

All of these are terrific! Great coloring on the images! I use mostly scraps...only because sometimes it's painful to cut a whole new sheet of paper! I'm crazy I know, but not alone I am sure!
