A Little Bird...

I just love when new stamps come in the mail!!! Today's package contained a new set from the Spring/Summer Stampin' Up catalog! I thought this was such a versatile set to have, and the bird is so cute! I also did this card as a challenge for SCS today - to add some glitter to your card. In case you can't see in the picture, the little bird has been paper pieced with the designer paper and then covered with dazzling diamonds. It actually ends up matching the stickers I used from K&Company pretty good 'cause they are very glittery as well.

The matching box is a 2.75" circle paper mache' box that someone "donated" to me. I guess they bought a bunch and never used them... so their loss is my gain! I covered the sides with SU designer paper (linen prints) and made a flower for the top of the box by cutting 12 squares that measure 1.5" and 12 more that measure 1" and rolling them into cones. They are adhered together with little bits of red sticky tape (cause it holds the best). Then they are all glued down to the lid of the box and finished off with a sticker from K&Company.

I really love how this project turned out! It was very time consuming to make the box, so I don't think I'll be making too many of them! I filled it with shredded, curled paper scraps from the DP that I used, so it's all ready to fill with a gift for someone's birthday!

Thanks for looking and let me know what you think. I think it may be time for some more BLOG CANDY! I have a brand new, uncut stamp set from Green Grass Stamps to give away! All you need to do is leave a comment on this post, and you'll be entered to win. I'll pick a random winner in the next few days, so pass the word along!
