Baby It's Cold Outside

Oh the fun I've had with this set!!! First off I love snowmen, so just about any set that has a snowman instantly becomes a favorite. This brand new set from My Favorite Things will be released on 12/5/07. My Favorite Things (www.mftstamps.com) is having a New Release Cocktail Party on Wednesday, December 5 from 9-11 p.m. Eastern time. Head over to the MFT forum on www.splitcoaststampers.com to find out all the details and join us there on Wednesday night. There will be give aways, coupon codes, a challenge and sneak peeks. PLUS find out on Wednesday how you can become a MFT Guest Designer. It'll be lots of fun so I hope you can join us!

Now for the card details! For the first card I had more embellishments planned, but then scrapped them all for the simplicity of this design. I cut the main image out for this one and glued it directly to the background I created with wavey white cardstock adhered over textured blue. The main image was colored with prisma pencils. This one has a different look than my "normal" cards but I'm liking it's simplity.

My second card was colored in with Prisma pencils in shades choosen by my 14 year old DD. I used Orchid paper and a textured plum paper for the card base, with snowflakes embossed with white EP. I wanted to use some designer paper on this, but I DO NOT have a single sheet of purple designer paper!! Plus I only have this one purple ribbon... is purple an "out" color? I think I'm gonna go on a hunt for some nice purple designer paper... so if you know about a pretty one please send me a link (or post it in a comment).

The third card is also along the simple lines again. I tried some different layouts with other colors/papers, but the cool look to the main image just wanted all the attention!! The jacket was stamped on Basic Grey Figgy Pudding paper and cut out. This is one of most favorite things about alot of the MFT stamps... I like to play paperdolls and cut out their outfits from designer paper!

Which one is your favorite?? Leave a comment and let me know. Don't forget that I'll be adding to my Christmas list from your comments.... one random winner will receive a card from me. Thanks for looking

Oh yeah.... a couple quesitons to answer about yesterday's post... the Modge Podge dries clear and hard, so it almost puts a varnish on the project. It's a great sealer for things like the snowflake. I'm also betting that Michaels or Joanns has these big wooden cut outs. If anyone makes a project similar to this let me know, I'd love to see them! I'm gonna stop on the way home and see if they have a tree to decorate.... that would look pretty cool too!

Of course all 3 are great cards, but I like #2 the best -- the colors (good job to your DD), the layering and embossing. I love that style of yours!!

I truly love them all but if I had to pick just one I would say the middle one, I just love loads of details and embellishments.

Gosh, they're each adorable, but the one that really catches my eye is the last one. Great job!

My favorite is #2. You don't think of purple for winter but it made a beautiful card.

I really like all the cards but #3 is my favorite! I love paper piecing and this is a great example of that! I like the snow layout on #1 too~ Wonderful as usual!

Hard decision. I love the second one, but I really like the simplicity of the other two. I would have to say #1 is my favorite--it just reminds me of a snowy day.

I love card #2, the purple one. I use a lot of purple when making cards, just because it looks so different! All 3 of your cards look great.
