Scrappy Snowflake
I bought a wooden cutout snowflake at AC Moore for $1.00 - it's gotta be about 10" in diameter, so it's pretty large! I went through my scrap pile and pulled out all the Figgy Pudding scraps and any green/burgundy scraps from other paper companies as well. They were all ripped into small pieces prior to starting the project.
I used Modge Podge for the adhesive and covered the wood in small areas before applying the torn paper, then followed up with another layer of Modge Podge. I did the whole snowflake in this manner, then applied one more coat of MP.
I added a background piece behind the center cutout and attached a "think snow" sentiment from Green Grass Stamps.
All together this took about 45 minutes to an hour to make.
Don't forget about my Christmas Card Giveaway!!! Leave a comment on this post and you may be added to my Christams card list this year! I'll pick a random winner from each post, so don't miss out and check back daily.

Ummmm....WOW!!!!! Can I ask how long this took you to do?? This is amazing, very creative!
This is fantastic, what a wonderful use of scraps.
Neat project! BG is one of my fav paper lines- it can make anything look better.
SOOOOO cool! You have amazing ideas. Love your blog!
Holy Moly---that is stunning. I love it. What a cool idea to use up your scraps. Thanks so much for sharing that idea with us all.
This is so cute!! I love all the different papers together!
Cool! Wonder if Mike's or HL has any of those neat wooden snowflakes?
I have been saving my little bits of this Figgy too and now I know that I can put them to a beautiful creative use. Just amazing! Thanks so much!
Beautiful!
It's cool, it really is! Where are you going to put it?
I save even the teeniest-tiniest pieces of DP.....now, thanks to you, I know what to do with them!! This is SO amazing!! What a gorgeous Holiday decoration! I would also love to receive a Christmas card from you....and I know that I'll probably frame it too (heck, it'd be a Flaxychick original!!) :-) Have a great day, Michelle! Hugs- Pam (4Hounds)
This is a wonderful project. I love it.
wow, this is a GREAT project, and it really is big! Isn't the MP sticky after it's all over? What do you do to keep it from being sticky?
Anyway, what a nice result. I like it!
this is wonderful! I'm also a nut for Basic Grey and have to get beyond my 'hoarding of the scraps' mindset. sigh.... you have inspired me to pull some of them out and get to work. I also use MP on all of my altered work. I really like how easy it is to use and how well it sticks. no worries about projects coming unglued!
beautiful snowflake!!!!
I love using colors that are not 'typical' of a certain thing and this red/green patterned snowflake definitely fits the description. BRILLIANT!
This is so creative! I love any project that utilizes scraps. I, too, have Figgy Pudding scraps to use. Maybe I'll take your concept and apply it to a Christmas card...hmmm.... Thanks so much for the inspiration you give!
That brought an "Oh, Wow!" from us this morning!! :) TFS!!
So beautiful. I wish we has an ACMoore.
What a great Snow Flake! I love the idea of using up some of my favorite scraps that are too pretty to toss out. Great idea. I think I might try it out on some little gift boxes ... who wouldn't want a gift wrapped up in some basic gray scraps!? We play a fun game at a couple of our parties and I just know the gals are going to fight for my gift this year *wink*.
What a really neato idea to use up very small paper scraps--I knew there was a reason I was foolishly saving all those dime sized scraps! :)
Feenie

Love the snowflake but love how you used up your Basic Grey scraps. I cannot bear to throw away even the tiniest bit so will look for something like this to 'cover'.
Your snowflake is soooo darn cool. What a great way to use up those scraps.
Oh my this is gorgeous!!!TFS!
Looks great! How long did it take you to make it? :o) Pick me! I would love to receive a hand-made card from you! Monika/Buzsy
