An Eclectic Mix

I gotta say a big SORRY for not posting much this week. As most of you know I'm closing the store, and still trying to move stuff out of it. Almost done though, thank goodness! I have found a little time for some stamping - and using some cool new stuff that came in the mail!
-
The first card was made using stuff from Crafty Secrets (you can buy some of these at Sweet Miss Daisy's ebay store ). The Eiffel Tower is a stamp from the French Mail set (as are the rest of the stamps on this card) The cool looking vintage photo is from one of the Craft Secrets vintage booklets. They are so cool!
-
The second card was made using Papertrey stamps on clear window sheets - I always save the clear plastic from any packaging, it's so handy to stamp on! I used black Stazon for this so it wouldn't smear. The ribbon was found in a Michael's $1 bin.
-
Card #2 was made using some new stamps from My Favorite Things stamps. The set is called "Behind The Scenes" and has a bunch of cool little background stamps. I used YoYo yellow and Brilliant Blue for this card because it matched the #1 Dad charm.
-
Blog Candy Alert!!! Choose your favorite card out of these 3 and leave a comment on why you are choosing it. I have a brand spankin' new tin of purple Prima's to give away to a random winner.

I love the butterfly card! I'm in love with butterflies and that ribbon is too cute! Love it!!

Got to say the one that caught my eye and had to stop and take a second look was the black and white butterfly. It was so simple and yet so classic. Once again, GREAT Job!!
You rock!

Although I love them all, the vintage card is my favorite. Your details are awesome...the brads, the wire, the brass, the photo turn and beads. The details just make this card "over the top" special!

Allison Rankin said...

I do like the vintage card but I must say the Papertrey butterflies is my fav...CASE it, I will!

I don't think my first comment came through- if it did, sorry!

Today's favourite is #2. Just love the Papertrey Butterfly Kisses set. Great idea of using the image sheets. I'll have to remember to keep the next lot!

so hard to chose from such beautiful cards... but i was drawn to card #3 at first, so i am going to pick that one. i love the layout and i always have a hard time with masculine cards, so i like how u did it! :)

They are just gorgeous. My fav is #2, it's just so unique and classy.

Again, they are all wonderful. But #2 is my favorite. I love the simplicity of the white card but then the ribbon adds that special 'girlness' to it. AWESOME!

I am having a tough time choosing too! I love black and white but think I will go with #1! I love antiques and loved Paris when I was there. Maybe it brings back great memories! I do like how you did the mix of things on the front too. I'm trying to learn to put several focus items on the fronts now too so this is a good learning example for me too! TFS! Not sure I can call it a "favorite" since they are all so beautiful...but, number 2 would be my pick. I just love the way the butterflies "pop" off the page at you. They also remind me of much warmer weather which we could sure use some 'bout now *wink*

I'll pick #3. Mainly because I thought it was made with designer paper, but it's really made with awesome stamps. Really nice!

All things Vintage...I love the Eiffel Tower card!!! The details and texture of this card is awesome! France makes me think of our exchange student who stayed with us two summers in a row...c'est magnifique!!!

DeniseLynn said...

Oh so hard to choose! The black and white butterfly card is so elegant. I love vintage things and your card is great with all the detail. However I think the one that really got my attention is the bright colors for dad. I vote for #3 because of the color combo on a dreary Michigan day and because it's a great masculine card!

Anonymous said...

I LOVE card #2, that is awesome. I can't wait to try it! I like the idea of saving the clear plastic too, how clever!!!

My fav is #2, the butterflies. It's just gorgeous with the translucent wings.

My first choice would be #2, the black/white butterflies. It is so awesome the way they look like they are flying.

I love every thing about the second card! It is simple and sweet, yet elegant too. The ribbon is so soft and repeats the pattern on the butterflies. I also love that the butterflies are 3-D...a stunning card!

I love the 3rd card. I'm a sucker for anything with inked or chalked edges and I love the simplicity of it. It just works.

ok I love to drool over all your work! but this time I love the butterfly black and white card the best!

PaperTrey's Butterflies. Great monocromatic look with the texture of ribbon & dimension of acetate.

Hard to choose a favorite card here. I love both 1 & 2 for different reasons. But I think I will choose #2 because I love the acetate butterflies. Makes me long for warmer weather!

I have to go with #1 because I love vintage stuff, especially Crafty Secrets!

This week's cards are very hard to choose from. I really like the vintage look, so am leaning toward #1. But who doesn't love Dads, so #3 is great. I'm going to have to go with #2, though, as I love the big ribbon bow! Too, cute!

Ida said...

Guess I'm different from most everyone else on this one. I like card #3 the best. While my own dad passed away several years ago I think this is a card any dad would like. I like it because of the colors, the layout is nice and the charm is just so perfect for this card. Ida

Anonymous said...

My favorite card is number 2. I am intrigued by your comment about saving packing material. Would love to know what materials and how they are used. I also love butterflies! :)

#3 blue/ yellow card- it just jumped right out at me! Love the layout and colors.

The butterfly card just speaks to me, it's elegant and yet whimsical and it makes me smile.

That's a tough decision....which card to choose.........but, if I have to, I would have to say #2...the Papertrey Butterflies. Love the idea you used to create them....they look beautiful.

ReneeK said...

Hi Michelle!

Card #2 gets my vote - I love the simplicity of it!

Amy said...

I like the contrast of shapes in the third: the squares in the background, the circle in the center, and a couple triangles implied by the charm and then again in the ribbon above it. Thanks for sharing!

Anonymous said...

I would have to choose card number two. I love how you suspended the butterfly's...I also love the simpleness of the card. less is more.... They are all beautiful, but that is the one my eye goes to automatically. Plus I love some of the patterns on wider ribbon but never buy...now I have an idea to try out!

Anonymous said...

My favorite card is #3. I love blue and yellow together. And the little charm is so cute. Perfect fathers day card.

Anonymous said...

I like #3 becuase I am a symetrical type of person.

Anonymous said...

Even though I tend to favour butterflies normally, I vote for card #3. I love the use of the 4 different b/g papers and the stamped image in the circle. This layout is great for those hard to make male cards we all tend to have trouble with and also those small stamps that get "lost" on a card.

Anonymous said...

Michelle, your cards are always amazing! I love all three cards, but the PaperTrey butterfly is my favorite.

InspiredByInk said...

Though normally I'd pick the butterflies... NOT THIS TIME! I love the first one w/the vintage feel to it!

I'm hard pressed to choose a favourite since they are all so lovely and each so different. I think that I like #3 best, because although each of the squares is individually interesting and eye-catching, the eye is drawn to the charm in the centre. Thanks for the chance to win some embellishments!
