Pearly Garden

This project was done using the Melted Pearls Technique - there is a great tutorial on splitcoast stampers for this!

I wanted to use up some paper scraps, so I picked out Lavender Lace, Marigold Morning, Brocade Blue and Cameo Coral. I embossed each with versamark and clear embossing powder. When the embossing was still tacky I rubbed pearlex onto it. I pretty much matched up my colors to the cardstock, but it would probably look even better with contrasting Pearl ex on the cardstock..

To make the card I cut white cardstock to measure 10x5 and scored it in half so the final card measures 5x5. I cut the circular opening by tracing around a ribbon spool. I glued the bottom and top edges together and put eyelets in all 4 corner to form a pocket.
The flower stems were stamped with olive green, and I added a couple little flourishes to the bottom as well. Some of the flowers are glued on and others are popped up on dimensionals. The sentiment is also popped up. It's really hard to see the pearly effects in my pictures, but IRL the flowers have a pearly, metallic sheen to them... they are really pretty!

The inside of the card measures about 4.5x4.5 and slides out the side. I attached ribbon and another flower to it, distressed the edges, then matted it on lavender cardstock. Oh yeah... one last detail..... the flower mounted on the inside panel has a clear button sewed on to it's center.

Wow, oh, Wow! I am new to the usage of pearl ex and this is just amazing! Definitely a technique that I will scope out - and only because your sample is so beautiful! I just have to add the clear embossing powder to the wish list. AMAZING! TFS!
