You're My Cup of Tea!

I had alot of fun coming up with this card design. I knew I wanted something girly and old-fashioned to go with the pretty image from Impression Obsession so I decided to make a lace up embellishment along one side of the card. I used my Fiskars Threading Water punch to create the scallops and the holes for this element. Once my paper was punched I glued it down about 1/4" from the edge with Scor-tape, then bent the scalloped edges up so I could easily thread the gold cords through the holes. I used more of the scallops along the other side of the card

The main image was colored with Copics. I did alot of blending on this image to maintain the light coloring. The image was cut with a spellbinder oval, then matted on scallops.

I used a button from Basic Grey's Wassail button pack. I just love these buttons!!! I got away from buttons for awhile, but now I'm totally into a button frenzy all over again. They just add such interest to a card. PLUS these buttons are now 40% off in the store which is a great buy. Just because they are from the Christmas line doesn't mean you need to save them for Christmas cards... these colors are great for anytime of the year!

To finish off this corner element I tied a piece of tapestry ribbon in a knot, trimmed down the edges, then tied it together with the gold cord and button. The sentiment was attached to the cord bow with a jump ring.

I've mentioned a few times that I'll be at CHA next week buying new stuff for the store... and I can't wait!! I wanted to spread to joy... so Laura and I decided to mark everything in the store on sale!!! For the next week EVERYTHING will be 20% off. Well... that's not totally right because the sale category is now 40% off! How's that for a great deal? We really want to start fresh after CHA because I know there will be tons of stuff we're gonna just fall in love with and want to order. So help us out (and yourself) and clear out our inventory at Paper Addiction!

Thanks for looking and please let me know what you think of the new Impression Obsession stamp!

Oh yeah... one LAST thing! I tallied up the results from the blog candy vote "Name your favorite American Art Stamp image". That was a fun poll! The 25 "other" were stamps that were only named once so I lumped them together.

Beautiful! I love the old-fashion look, so soft and feminine. Awesome job in selecting just the right stamp and embellishments that all just blend so nicely.

Such a feminine antique feel to this card. You really have it all covered with the corset feel to the coloring and the pretty stamp with lace napkin. Perfection all the way around!!! TFS.
