A Variation on the Sketch

I changed the sketch up a little bit and made this card taller. It now measures 4.25 x 5.5 (once it's on the matte), so I started out with 12" x 5.25" paper and followed the same scoring instructions listed HERE

This one actually have very little stamping... only the sentiment! Those wicked cool looking stars are from Scenic Route Paper - Justin Road! It's on the simple side, but pretty quick and easy to make. Plus I love all the creamy vanilla cardstock showing - this has become my favorite carstock to use... it's from Papertreyink and is called Vintage Cream.

The ribbon on this card is simply taped along the back side of the accordian so it's hidden between the layers once you put the red mat on the back. I {heart} cards with a bow to open them.

The last card is today's color challenge on SCS. I actually ran out of Kiwi Kiss... so I had to substitute with a more "green" shade. These round cards are so much fun to make... and a nice change from traditional rectangles and squares. I colored the cats with Copis then added all the embellishments. Kinda fun.... huh?

Since the year is quickly coming to a close I've been thinking about all the new products I've "discovered" this year that are items I simply can't craft without now. I know topping my list are Copics, I really don't want to reach for any of my other coloring tools now! I think my second are nestabilities, which even though I only discovered them a few weeks ago I'm really making up for missing out on the for so long.

What items did you discover this past year that you can't craft without?? Since I never heard from my last blog candy winner.... I'm gonna give these goodies away again.
******BLOG CANDY ALERT!!!!!*******
Enter to win by naming at least one "must have" craft product that you discovered in the past year. I'll tally them all up all the answers when I pick the winner!

I just got a cuttlebug and frankly don't know how I've lasted so long without one. I've got a few embossing folders and the scalloped circle and rectangle nesties. So much more to get though-hehe.

I got the EK Curvy Cutter and I love that thing! It makes cutting circles so much easier! I also have fallen in love all over again with punches! They add so much, well, PUNCH!, while being so quick and easy to use!

Gorgeous cards!!! My must haves would be my cuttlebug for embossing & lately I am also loving the snowflake die, my nesties & I just started a collection of copics! =)

Promise not to laugh? I am addicted to Terrifically Tacky Tape, I use it on everything!

Maybe this time I'll get lucky! My can't live without tool is my Dahle 440 rolling paper trimmer. It's always sharp and cuts a nice edge everytime. And it's straight! Thanks for the chance to win again. :)

I got to say my can't live without craft item I discovered this year is copic markers. They color so wonderfully. I don't have that many yet but love to use the ones I have.

Spellbinders--I just love 'em and am still discovering all the things I can do with them. I hope to try the copics soon.

My current must have item is bling! Whether Stickles, glitter or rhinestones, my creations need a bit of shine!

Oh, so many things. I got a Cuttlebug for my birthday recently (just waiting for the folders to arrive so I can see how much I can use it!). But I think the one thing I almost always use is Tim Holtz Distress ink, especially Walnut. Love your cards, Michelle - thanks for sharing.

I think for me, it is my nesties. I love that you get some many different sizes with each set. Takes up a lot less storage space than punches.

I will have to try your sketch challenge, but I am furiously trying to finish my Christmas cards-I am so behind!! Anyways, one thing I can't live without is the Kokoyu tape runner. It comes out smoothly and adheres well!

Gorgeous cards!! My newest "must-have" discovery would have to be my Copics. I am loving them and so need to add more colours to my collection!!

The item that would be my "must have" for the year would be my scor-pal. I learned about it on SCS website, but thought the price tag of $39.95 was a bit high. I received a coupon for $15.00 off at my local stamp store, and decided to buy one with the $15.00 off. I am glad I did, because I just love it. Thanks for sharing all of your creations on-line with us. I love your blog. :)

I love my CM punches. I got them a long time ago but they still work really well and I find them very useful.

I'm with Anne... the cuttlebug and nesties. I have also been bought some goregous watercolour crayons and am ken to get as good as the lady whom I saw demonstarting them... I do believe they and my H2O's could make me some extraordinary coloured images- I just can't afford to invest in copics also -as pretty as they always look. maybe when kinder teachers starmaking some real money!

P.S- The sketch has me inspired again... mojo was lacking, now it's back ... When i've photoed them, I'll post

LOVE the circle card! My fave 'new' product is probably the Cuttlebug - love the embossing folders and the nestie shapes (which would probably be my 2nd choice). I just got some Copics so haven't really had much chance to play around with them yet, but can't wait to figure them out!

I love my nesties..use them everytime I make a card. Couldn't do without them!

Do "stamping blogs" count as craft supplies? Because I don't think my cards would look as good without all the ideas I get from the 15 blogs I subscribe to (yes, I would add more, but I don't want to be overwhelmed with great ideas that I have to try right this minute).

Michelle,

I can't live without my nesties!!!

My cuttlebug and nesties ROCK! It is so easy to make beautiful cards now that I can't really take credit for them! I enjoy the papercrafting so much more with these new toys - and I enjoyed it before! :)

I would have to say my SU Big Shot and that Top Note Die I got with it...I am "in love" with it. I also love the Cuttlebug, my hubby got me that last year for Xmas, and I use it constantly, the Top Note Die runs right thru it too just perfect! He got me a Cricut for Xmas this year, early as the deal was too good to pass up, but my one small thing I discovered thanks to all the blogs was STICKLES...love that stuff!!!!

Nicole Steele said...

I love my Cuttlebug and Stickles. I bought 18 bottles of Stickles right from the start and I use them constantly! Now I see there are Distress Stickles...I may have to get those and some grungeboard, too. Truthfully, I'm a stamper/scrapper who tends to use her stash. I hardly ever buy new things unless I'm replenishing. I also tend to use found objects (clothing tags, leftover twine, etc.).

I would have to say the Scor-Pal. I just splurged and got it recently and really like it. I feel it adds some really simple elegance without too much bling.

I LOVE the circle card and the use of non-traditional Christmas colors!

I have to say the Nesties-so many sizes and so easy to use with my Cuttlebug, too! I love those layers and the nesties scallops add so much!

The CuttleBug! It is amazing. I have learned to do so many neat things with it.
I love all of the new punches-and the extra large size ones. They are cool.

Your kitty card is so cute. Love the colors. And that fold out Christmas card. Really neat.

I can't live without my SU tabletop paper cutter. Its cuts are so much cleaner than the personal trimmer. And I can cut multiple pieces of cardstock with one swing of the blade! I also love my copics and nesties like you. There are so many! Thanks for another chance to win! Happy Holidays!
