Super Simple Christmas Cards

I sat down to stamp tonight and was at a loss on what to make!! I'm just plain tired from running all over town for auto work, doctors appt's and to finally start my Christmas shopping - so I really had all my creativity drained out of me.... or so I thought!

I decided to focus on super simple and really quick Christmas cards using just vanilla cardstock, patterned paper, one sentiment and embellishments. All of these cards use paper from Scenic Route - which is currently on sale at Paper Addiction.

CARD #1

The first card was made with the Garland Scrap Sheet and Garland Howard Road. I punched circles and inked the edges with brown ink and a blending tool, then cut little "caps" for the bulbs and attached gold cord in a loop to the back of the ornament. They were popped up on dimensionals for a little added depth. The Merry Christmas sentiment is from My FAvorite Things.

CARD #2

This design is one I turn to over and over again this time of year for a really quick, but cute card. I simply cut triangles from patterned paper (all from Scenic Route), ink the edges with the foam blending tool, then add a 2 layers of vanilla carstock over the bottoms of the trees for snow. I added punched stars to the top of the trees (done with cuttlebug dies) and glittering dots of snow with Stickles (also on sale this week since it's a holiday STAPLE!!)

CARD #3

The last card was made with squares of Scenic Route paper (again with the edges inked) that were arranged like presents. I added narrow, red satin ribbon with Scor-tape (my absolute favorite adhesive) and tied little bows to match. This one probably took the longest because of the bows, but was still done in under 15 minutes.

Now the big question.... which one is YOUR favorite?? Leave me a comment and let me know which of these 3 cards is your favorite and you'll be entered to win some fantastic BLOG CANDY!! I have an 12 x 15 envelope STUFFED full of 12x12 paper, embellishments, ribbons, stamps and who knows what else and it's just waiting for a new home. So if you'd like to provide said home for these products then leave me a comment and make sure you leave an email address if it's not listed in your blogger profile OR check back to see who won!

Thanks for reading!

The gifts are my favorite. Love the colors.

I really prefer the stack of gifts. Maybe it's all that ribbon, because I AM a sucker for ribbon! It is a great idea for using up scraps of paper and by using the same bow on each it ties the whole together.

I love card #2--if I have to pick one. All of them are very creative. Thanks for sharing.

Jingle said...

Well, I had a really hard time choosing because I love the sparkle and the trees in #2, but I feel like the warmth that the inked edge gives #3 just finishes the card beautifully. I think I am going with #3. It is just more complete. I love all three designs! Great piecing and wonderful paper choices!
