Mini Treat Boxes for 1 Dozen Cookies!!

Since today was a 1/2 a snowday and my girls were home at noon we decided to spend the day baking cookies. I dug out my mini cookie press from Wilton and made some tiny little buttery Spritz cookies. I was originally planning on putting cookies in Votive Boxes, but it would take too many to fill up the box. I changed the pattern up a little bit to make a 2x3 box that is 1.5" high. It's perfect to fit a whole dozen of these little cookies!!The box uses a 8x8 sheet of cardstock. I used some DCWV paper for this one since it was my "template" to see how it would turn out. I sanded the edges to let the white show through - I love that look!!

The little medallion on the front is a die cut piece of chipboard coaster, covered with a die cut piece of cardstock sanded around the edges. I then stamped the snowflake from SU "Season of Joy" in the center of a circle and added a rhinestone and stickles. The medallion is held down with Tombow Mono Multi that I allow to dry so it is repositionable. Pretty cool - huh?

I lined the inside of the box with wax paper that was pleated, then trimmed with pinking shears for a decorative edge. My dd's friends just love to hold on to these little boxes, so we wanted to keep them neat inside and not butter stained.

Each box fits 12 of these cookies. They measure 1.25" in diameter. I just tried to look up the mini press and I think it's been retired. They do make mini discs for the larger presses though!! I just love anything tiny... so I'm totally excited about these gifts! My dd & I made 20 boxes out of pretty dp to put the cookies in. I would take a picture but I still need to put the snowflake medallions on the fronts... and you know how long it takes for stickles to dry!!!

Who wouldn't love to receive a box of homemade cookies, presented that way? I know I would! I used to host a cookie exchange every Cmas but haven't done it for a few years...maybe next year?

Such a cute cookie box! (The cookies look delicious too!) Now I want the mini cookie press as well. Maybe I can find it at Ross or TJ Maxx in their housewares section if they have been retired. :( I have never tried a cookie press, but your cookies are so cute!

Happy weekend and congrats to Michelle!

I love this cute little box especially to hold the right amount of cookies. If you have the pattern, can you post it or send it to me. Thanks, Barb

I am waiting for my butter cookie batter to warm up so I can press the cookies. I really like your presentation - A LOT! Off to look harder for your pattern.

I just sat with a piece of note book paper and folded and ripped - and THEN saw your measurements!!!! Well - I now have a 'lovely' truly official looking template totally not to scale, but with your measurements, and a great imagination!
Maybe I could be an engineer. naaaaaaaaaaaaaahh - off to fold, then to bake!

Thanks again for the wonderful inspiration!
