Birds of Hope
I'm a challenge junkie and love having a challenge as a "start" to any of my projects. I was a bit lost on what to work on today so I took a peek at the Caardvarks blog to see their current challenge. It was to use solid paper - not patterned paper allowed! I ALWAYS use some kind of patterned paper - but I decided to try it anyway.
I really love this stamp from American Art Stamp - I think it is my favorite out of all the new ones just released because you can use it for any occasion. Plus it's alot of fun to color in! I sponged the background of the main image with Colorbox Citrine ink, then used old olive along the outside edges. I then colored the image with copics and added white gel pen accents to the flowers. I ran it through a Nestabilitites Label die to create this pretty shape that is echoed in the silver hodgpodge.
I layered these elements over a scalloped circle from The Paper Cut, which I embellished with white gel pen. I just love the light olive velvet ribbon I found in my stash.... where did it come from???
I'd love to know what you think of these birds - leave me a comment and let me know. Thanks for looking!

Thanks so much for joining the Caardvarks fun ... love how you colored this adorable image ... and the label shape goes so well with the hardware.
Oh my goodness this one pulls out all the stops. Totally gorgeous! I agree that this is a lovely stamp. And your green really pops--I love bright cards.
I think this is one of your greatest cards. Love the stamp, love the design.
Happy Holidays
