What a funny combination of elements on this project... but somehow it all works! I made the little box using the votive template available on our website (Paperaddiction.com) for .99 or FREE with any purchase. To receive it for free you need to use coupon code TEMPLATE in the checkout.
I made the card and box with paper from the Hometown Collection by October Afternoon - this particular paper is called "Woolworths". I used the scraps from the box to make the card so they are a matching set that's all ready to be given to someone celebrating something "newsworthy" - what would that be anyways?? I'm thinking that anything you would say congratulations on would be a newsworthy event - don't you agree?
I did something I RARELY do when I made this card.... I stamped in color! I almost exclusively use black and brown ink and color the images, but this time I used my SU! markers to color directly on the stamp (after a slight conditioning with an eraser). The stamp set I used is also from October Afternoon and is called "Newsworthy". I'm gonna let you in on a little secret though... it's almost sold out!! I think there are only one or two left, so if you want one you gotta hurry.
The box has the floral side of the paper showing and the pretty houndstooth on the inside of the box. I matched this paper up with ribbon from PTI. I really wanted a dark blue ribbon but couldn't find a single one in my stash!! I filled the inside of the box with saltwater taffy. The box is the perfect size for a little treat like this.
I also wanted to announce the blog candy winner.... It's Inksgirl who said...
"Yes! I would love your template for the box. I continue to be amazed by your work and also by the fast delivery I always get when I buy from you. Your site is one of my favorites." Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org with your mailing address so I can send your goodies.
Thank you to everyone who left a comment on that post - I really appreciate it! I'd also love to see some of the finished boxes that from the 2 templates on the website. I've had a few people email me pics of their fabulous creations, and I'd love to see more. You can either link in a comment or send me an email. Thanks!
Have a great day!
