As most of you already know, I'm a rhinestone kinda girl... glitter, rhinestones, sparkle, glitz - that's me (or my cardmaking anyways). So when I stopped by the Kandi Corp booth while at CHA... well you can imagine what it was like. I wanted to stay all day and run my fingers through the sundae glasses full of rhinestones that had on display!! I used the Hot Fix applicator to apply the rhinestones to this card. There are 2 methods of applying the rhinestones... you can put them on a mat shiny side up and actually pick them up with the applicator and apply them to your paper (or fabric or lots of other mediums). Or you can lay them out on the project and just use the applicator to warm the glue in place. I actually prefer the second method because I like to like up my project before glueing it together. All in all it's a pretty simple process!
This card was made with my new PTI Chocolate paper that just arrived in the mail a few days ago.... I'm so glad they released brown because I was all out of chocolate chip!! I matched it up with some butterfly paper from K&Company's Urban Rhapsody 12x12 pad. It's pretty rare that you see a card from me with only a few layers on it!!
Here is a closeup of the rhinestones. I embossed the image first before applying the rhinestones and realized (belatedly) that you need to keep the heat applicator away from the embossed lines because they will melt (duh!) so you see there is one spot where I learned that. But once I was a little more careful I had no problem heat applying the rhinestones to the embossed image.
Leave me a comment and let me know what you think. Also stay tuned because I have some CHA swag to give away as blog candy - maybe this weekend?

neat! I'm all about the bling too so I love your butterfly. :) Would you be able to provide a tutorial on how the hot fix works and show pics as you go through the process? I've been debating whether I should get one. TIA!
LOVE the glitz. It adds so much to the card and you have a way of putting it all together. I'm really glad to hear it's so easy, I too want to get on of these applicators and crystals. Thanks for sharing!!! Polly

WOW! I've never heard of Kandi Corp and can tell I'm going to have a "Hot" fall! With the hot wax writer and the cool hot fix applicator, I'm very intrigued! Can't wait to try them out! Your butterfly is gorgeous and it does seem the 2nd way would be the easiest.
