I made this card for the MFT sketch challenge hosted weekly by Cindy Haffner in the MFT forum on SCS.
I just received these flower from Jacksonbelleembellishments. They are from Prima Marketing and are called Painterly Petals. Prima flowers were really popular a few years ago, then they sort of went away for awhile.... but now they are back and bigger than ever! Cindy Haffner has such a knack of putting the flowers in just the right spots... I don't think I've quite mastered that but I'm gonna keep trying. The flower centers are vintage buttons out of my button jar.
The sentiment is from My Favorite Thing's "Twisted Sentiments" set. It's kinda a cute saying to put on a card filled with good gossip! Of course we all know NEVER to put gossip in writing!!
The heart is from a package of dotted Grungeboard that I purchased at my LSS. I inked it with PTI Summer Sunrise and Ranger Distress Vintage Photo and Brushed Corduroy. I'm still using my sponge tool from Inkessentials quite a bit. I picked up a pad of disposable Palette paper (very similar to wax paper) and keep it by my desk so I can quickly ink up edges by depositing a small amount on the Palette, then blending it with the foam. It works great every time!
I also added some machine stitching and pinking shear edges to go along with the vintage buttons on this card.
So what do you think?
