My Very First Stamp Set

When I went to my very first Stampin' Up party about 4 years ago I bought this stamp set. I thought I had alot of cards in my gallery with this set - but strangely enought I don't have a single one! I know I've used this set ALOT... where did all those cards go?

I actually made this card for the SCS color challenge last week using Turquoise, Green Galore and white. I paper pieced the dress forms and used lots of white gel pen accents. The edges of the white paper were sponged with green galore (a little too much). I couldn't get a layout I was happy with so I subscribed to the old theory of "if your not satisfied, just add more", so I did!

How is everyone's summer so far? Mine has been busy with home improvements!! Since we just bought this house last fall we didn't really have time for much outdoor work before the cold weather set it, so now I've been working on the gardens, scraping the decks to be painted, replacing a deck (our whole back deck had to be ripped up because of a water line leak right under it), and other general stuff.

What's everyone else been up to?

Really cute card! I love this a lot! :)
Summer wise we had some reno done on our house... and so far that's it... it's still cold outside, but I'm not complaining... I don't like the heat! :)
Have a wonderful day!

The bright colors and patterns on this card are fabulous! What a festive birthday card. I find myself adding things, too, if I'm not happy with a card or scrapbook page. I love creative detail, so this approach has never failed for me LOL!

We're all about easy living in the summer...we go to the pool almost everyday, read a lot, go to the local farmers' market, and visit my grandparents (they live nearby but since school's out we can spend an entire day there).

I hope your home renovations turn out beautiful, Michelle!

Lovely card, Michelle.
I haven't been up to much yet, but we are going to be in your neck of the woods very soon. We're going back to my hometown to spend July with my Mom, in Saranac Lake. We'll be in Westport to visit my cousins, the Donaldson's. Do you know them? Enjoy your new home!!!

wow, this is GORGEOUS!! I love the color combo, and what a fabulous idea to use your very first stamp set! Mine was in 2001, and it was What's Brewin'. Maybe I should pull that out and join your movement!

Hey, thanks for asking! Your card is just awesome--I really like the look of paper piercing on that stamp set! I have become a caregiver to my Mom, which meant leaving the Chicago area to the family farm. What a change in lifestyle. I have about 1/2 of my stamping stuff here--of course not the stuff I need--LOL. Have a great summer. Darlene L

Hey Michelle, I like this card. Don`t be worried about the green cause it looks great. I have not been stamping as long as you and this looks like a great stamp...really in style again with all the fashion stamps. So far I am driving one to summer school, one to work and waking the other one up. I am so glad when they are all gone then I get to stamp. Have a great summer.
