Scalloped Coaster Card

I made this card for Cammie's color challenge posted in the Gina K forum on SCS. What pretty spring colors! I used a 4" round coaster for a card base.

I used the hearts and scallops technique to create the scalloped border. When you punch or die cut the hearts, you don't need to make a whole heart.... cut off the bottom "V" and you'll be able to fit alot more hearts to a piece of paper! I used some purple plaid scraps left over from the Baby Shower this weekend for these hearts.

I added a layer of lilac cardstock on the front of the coaster, then cut a 1/2" smaller circle out of green (made with my cutterbee circle scissors - love this tool). The top 1/2" of the circle was scored with my Scor-pal, then glued to the card base. I secured it with 3 purple brads.

The main image is from Gina K. It was colored with copic markers. I also added a plastic tag (also from Gina K) that was colored with copics and "Bloom" was spelled out with rub ons. Green buttons are from Basic Grey Obscure button pack.

When you open the green layer the sentiment is revealed on the inside. I'm really happy with how this turned out!

Don't forget about my One Sheet Wonder challenge I posted about a week ago. The details are on my forum at Embellish It Scrapbooking. Stop by and say Hi!

The swaps went out in the mail today. There are a few people that I'm billing postage through paypal, so you'll receive an invoice from me shortly! The work was amazing! Thanks everyone for participating!
