Artsy Clipboard Teen Birthday Set

My oldest dd is going to a birthday party this weekend and wanted to make a gift for her friend. She wanted to buy her some chocolate and then give her a little something extra... so we brainstormed and came up with the Artsy Clipboard for her. Her friend loves to draw and is very artistic, so we figured a clipboard will come in handy... I know I'm always using mine.
We covered the clipboard with paper from BAsic Grey Periphery - she loves birds, so this was perfect for her! Plus I love these colors, the green is so funky! We modgepodged it to the clipboard and added alpha stickers from the Basic Grey pack, and a sticker that I had in my stash from $1 Tree. I added one small bow to the top of the board - my dd didn't want any ribbon, but we compromised!

The chipboard box measures 4x2 and is covered with basic grey paper as well. We covered all the chocolates with dp, and a happy birthday message, then bagged them in cellophane with a ribbon. The chipboard box will double as a pencil holder. We added a green monogram to the front as well.

The card was just a simple one made with a 5.5x5.5 embossed card base from DCWV. I used scraps to decorate the front of the card, stamped the sentiment and added a paper bird. The set also has a personalized bookmark that you can see in the first picture.

This project was especially fun because I got my dd involved. She really doesn't spend much time stamping with me, but I think she really enjoyed this project. I know she wants me to find some more clipboards so she can decorate one for herself!

What do you think?

I love the clipboard! I altered my first one last weekend & was pretty pleased with how it came out. I have a bunch of small ones I got for free from my company, so will be able to get in lots of practice doing some altering!

Delightful! I love the colors and birds and everything about it. I will have to find that BG paper. I need to stay away from your blog, it leads to more aquisitions! JK, that wont't keep me away.
