Using Christmas Presents

I was a lucky girl this Christmas... my daughters went shopping and bought me new papers and embellishments (do they know me or what?) I gave them money for shopping then let them loose in Target for some shopping time and they picked out designer paper, chipboard buttons and a big bar of dark chocolate for my gift - couldn't get much better than that!

The first card was made for the My Favorite Things sketch challenge hosted by Cindy Haffner. I used some of the paper from the Marcella K paper pack my oldest DD picked out. I love the dusty red, gold and orange colors in this pack! I did alot of sanding and inking on the paper edges for a distressed look. The image was colored with a combo of copics and prismas.

The second image is also made with the Marcella K paper. It's a prety simple layout, but I like the wavy separating edge. The flower was stamped on white paper, then colored in with copics. The button in the center is glazed chipboard and is the gift my youngest picked out for me.

I'm anxiously stalking the SU website to get a peek at the new catty today. I gave up my demoship last quarter, so I didn't get an early catalog! Now I wish I was still a demo so I had the early preview.

Hope everyone had a wonderful New Year's celebration. We at stayed home this year with some yummy Chinese food and completely missed midnight 'cause we were watching a movie. I did get some stamping done though!

One last thing.... I just found out the Embellish-It Scrapbooking has a giveaway going on for the new Two Scoops line from Basic Grey... winner gets a 6x6 of Two Scoops AND the Heart Smudge stamp set - wicked cool!!! I love the heart smudge set, it's just like the rub-ons that I've gone through about 4 packs of. Now I can get the stamp set instead! Enter to win at Embellish-Online
Have a great day!

What a great idea for Christmas. I'm doing it next year!! :) Besides not getting the new catty early, are you missing your SU demo status a lot? I let myself go into pending at the end of December, and I'm trying to decide if I need to spend the $$ to stay active or not. I'd love to hear your take on it. tjtrax at yahoo.com

Paper, embellishments AND chocolate? You hit the jackpot! Love the colors - especially on the first card. Pretty!

They did a super job. I love both cards and the paper is so yummy! I let my demo-ship go too and am regretting it! I'm so impatient!

Happy 2008!

This may be a silly question, but I was wondering how you did the ribbon on the very first card. All your artwork is great as usual. Darlene L
