Lots of White

A couple of quick cards created for today's SCS challenge - to use a white background for the card. I love the simplicity of white cards, but I feel like they are half naked when I try to make one!

The first card was made with an image I already had colored and waiting to use. It's from My Favorite Things (www.myftstamps.com). I colored it with Prisma Pencils and a blender pencil. I've been getting into the habit of stamping out a bunch of images, then taking my clipboard and pencils out to the TV room and coloring while watching TV. That way I get a bunch of images all done and ready to mount and I can enjoy listening to my favorite programs. I have issues with just sitting and watching... I'm better at listening to the TV - my kids laugh at me about that!

Great cards, your B&W card is fantastic.

Love both cards - the B&W one is awesome. I had to laugh at the 'half naked' comment..... we get so wrapped up in COLOR that we forget 'spare' is classy and nice too..... keep 'em coming!

Oh I like 'em. I am always drawn to cards with that fresh, clean look buts Its funny to me how I when I make them myself I think I'm missing something. Great job and hooray for you for doing something out of your usualy zone.

I always admire clean cards, but I am terrible at putting one together myself. So, no your cards don't look half-naked, but I so understand what you mean about it feeling like there's something missing (when it's your own creation)! Oh and I also understand your issues with sitting and watching TV - I can't do that, either and my husband always teases me about that!

Well I like both of them but if I had to pick a favorite it would be the black and white.

I haven't stamped a card with a white bg in ages, so I admire your determination to do so!!! I happen to favor the snowflake card on the bottom - love the black and white together! the ribbons on the top card are really cute and draw my eye.
I would love to say that you are inspiring me, but not sure I'm ready to tackle that challenge yet!! :D

Hi:) I just wanted to tell you I stopped by - and I love your white cards - especially the top one. You didn't tell me you won PaperCrafts gallery contests -- COOL! You need to tell me these things.

Love the clean look of the white BG - however, I really love how striking the B&W card is. That would have to be my favorite.

I can't deicde which one I like better. I love the first one because it's fun. I love the second one because it's clean and pops out at you! I would pick the B&W if I had to choose :)

BOTH cards are awesome! The white is just perfect. I can't pick a favorite but for elegant look, I'd pick the B&W one and for a cutesy, whimsical style I'd pick the other. Beautiful cards!

Nope, they don't look naked to me. In fact, I really like this style. I do prefer the more colorful first one though.

I like both of them. Love the clean simple lines. If I had to pick just one, I would choose the black and white one.

Although I love both cards - the white makes the colors pop even more but I have to admit I have been drawn to black and white lately.
I am glad I am not the only one who colors on the couch at night...:)

love the baby its cold outside. It is funny how we have come to think that we NEED so much stuff on our cards. Sometimes it is just refreshing to see a card with wide open space. It shows confidence in the focal point. Great job on both cards but my fav is baby its cold outside. TFS

I always think they look sparse too - but you solved that with all the texture! It looks like the first one has embossed polka dots on the background? I love your coloring - I almost signed up for Gina K's copic club - I did sign up but then cancelled an hour later. I decided I wanted to learn how to color pretty with the pencils and dove blender pen that I already have before I spring for another method. Your work is proof that you can have pretty coloring that isn't done with a copic!

I totally understand the having to do something while you watch tv. As I type this, I'm blogsurfing and listening to a Christmas movie on tv and I still know everything that is going on. Merry Christmas!!! I'll be back......
