YEAH!!! I'm back!

Wow - after a LONG break from stamping I'm back in the groove again! I've been in limbo for almost a month now as we finished up moving to our new home. We are now about 30 miles south of Syracuse, NY in a tiny little speck of a town. I love it!! We're surrounded by farm fields and woods, and can hear the cows from the dairy farm in the valley mooing every evening. Our house is perched up on a hill, so we have a great view of the valley from all of our decks. PLUS, the best part is my family is only 15 minutes away, so I've been spending lots of time with my mom - it's been wonderful!!
-
I just finished painting my studio and setting up my big storage shelves so I can finally be a little bit organized (this may last about a week!) I bugged my dh to help me move my antique enamal top table into the studio last night - WHAT A PAIN! We had to take the whole table apart to get it down the hallway to my studio, but it was worth it 'cause now my work table overlooks to back yard and pool.
-
My 2 cards today are new releases from My Favorite Things - I *think* they are being released on the first of September - I'm so out of the loop on these things right now! I love this shower image - especially how her face is hidden by the umbrella. This umbrella is a great opportunity to stamp on designer paper (like I did on #1). I love the bold contrast of the lime, black & white on this card. The umbrella paper and the lime are both from BAsic Grey Romani paper.
-
The bridal shower card is my favorite of the day though - I LOVE the big grosgrain bow I tied. It actually holds the card together, because the decorated from panel flips open to reveal the "shower" details. I embossed the image with black EP, then colored with Prima pencils and a blender stump with baby oil. Kim @ My Favorite Things is gonna have a fabulous set of Prima Pencils for sale soon... I don't know all the details, but it will include a paint can to alter as well!!!! I have the pencils from her and the colors she picked out are wonderful for card making - a little of everthing! I haven't altered my paint can yet, but plan on it soon!!
-
Hopefully you'll be hearing more from me now that I have internet again and a real stamp studio to work in!

Michelle,

So glad your back! Missed seeing your creations.

Congratulations on the new house!

Can you tell me what ink you use to stamp your images with? I used brown staz-on on a card today and when I colored in using my prisma pencils the ink smeared up into the image. I hadn't even used gamsol yet.

Glad you are back! Moving can be such a pain, but you chose a beautiful spot for sure! I grew up on Seneca Lake, but now live in Western NY. I miss the fingerlakes terribly. I used to spend my weekends in the Cortland/Ithaca area and go to a fantastic music festival every year near Homer.

I missed seeing your cards!

Hi there!

I love your work -- thanks for sharing it!

I live in south-central PA these days but went to Colgate in Hamilton NY, and we had the most beautiful falls, and cold (but beautiful as well) winters. If you're in the same area you're in for a treat in only a few short weeks!

Welcome Back!! You've been missed dearly. I moved too and the unpacking is taking longer than expected. I am impressed to hear that your art space is getting attention (somehow mine got pushed to the back burner!) Your place sounds devine - I'd love to see photos of your view. Oh the thought of hearing cows mooing in the twilight is wonderful too. Ahhhh ... Welcome to your new place. Enjoy!

Welcome to the Syracuse area. You're just in time for the awsome beauty of Autumn and Fall in our area. I have lived in Syracuse my whole life and I wouldn't trade the seasons here for anything (yes, even our very long, cold winters).

I just love your cards and look forward to seeing more of them.
Good luck with getting settled into your new home.

Your cards are adorable, Michelle -- welcome back! I didn't know you were moving, too (a pain, isn't it?). I especially like the purple and olive colors together on that card.

Welcome Back! I was getting worried when you hadn't posted in awhile. Congrats on the move, it sound like you really are enjoying the new place. Great cards. I love how you can use the Umbrella image for more then just a "shower" type card. Ida

I'm so glad you are back! I am from Binghamton, NY, but now live in Minnesota. I miss it there and travel back a few times a year. Are there any good stamp stores around?

Congratualations on the new house! I now live in Boston, but we would have almost have been neighbors at one time -- I originally hail from West Winfield, NY -- about 40 miles southeast of Syracuse along Route 20. I enjoy your stamping creations!
