Stamping Slump

I was away for the weekend and was hoping my stamping slump was over when I returned... it's not though!!! Do you ever feel like you can't get into the groove? I've felt like that for almost a week now, I've managed to get a few projects done, but I'm not happy with any of them. This card was one of my many rejects from the past few days... I have alot of elements I LOVE on their own, but really don't like them combined.
-
I used some of my favorite paper - Scarlets Letter from Basic Grey (my new shipment arrived yesterday - yeah!!) I love the stripe for the background, it's cut from a sheet of 12x12. The second paper I used was trimmed from a 6x6 sheet and adhered to the top of the card. I stamped the LOVE sentiment in versamark and embossed with black - the stamp is an Autumn Leaves Rhonna set. I cut the heart out of chipboard, then embossed it with black and adhered more basic grey paper to the back. The winged heart is also from the Autumn Leaves Gypsy set.
-
This card measures about 9x4 - it fits into a large business sized envelope. I like making this larger sized card - you can fit alot of elements onto it!!
-
I'll post a winner of the blog candy tomorrow - Thanks everyone for voting!

Michelle! Yea, you're back! I missed you girlfriend! I was getting worried about you! Don't get too uptight about your "slump". We all have them. It's been hard for me to get back into it after my recent vacation. Just gotta keep plugging away though. You are AMAZING, and I miss your cards! Work through it, you'll be fine!

I am so happy you are back too! I was seriously being selfish going through withdrawls wondering what u were up to. Sorry to hear you are in a 'slump'..happens to the best of us from time to time. How is the store closing coming along? I am sure when it's all finished, and you are into your new routine you will feel like yourself again. (((hugs in the meantime)))

Oh my goodness! If this is the work you do when your in a slump, I want to be in your kind of slump, too! I love the card. But I must say that it doesn't look quite your style. Think of it this way. People who get payed millions of dollars to play a game get in slumps, so your up there with the big money makers!!! Keep at it and you'll be out of it in no time. I love your work and can't wait to see more.

First off sorry to hear your feeling in a slump with your art .. and yet I must say your card is still FABULOUS. I'd say it's not your normal style and that must be why it feels *wrong* to you but personally I LOVE it. Keep on going and keep creating and you'll get your groove back!

Slumps happen! - Maybe someone should make a rubber stamp with that saying (if there isn't already one out there). Just take some "me time" and you'll get inspired again soon. Your reject card is interesting. I'm not a big fan of "Collage" style stamping but I did like the colors and papers you used. Ida

I feel your pain...which is why I think I am surfing the blogs versus crafting! I like this one though!

Michelle, you are so very talented! Love seeing your creations. I just started logging onto SCS and notice the term "I cased this card." What does "case" mean?

You know, as beautiful as it is, I think that Scarlett's letter is really hard to work with. There are a few of you talented folks who can do it, but you almost have to keep it as simple as possible in my opinion. Good shot at it! Welcome back! (by the way, we all go thru slumps in talent-related areas!)
