Pick a card

Where is this week going??? I can't believe it's Wednesday.... somehow Monday & Tuesday just slipped right by me!
-
Card # 1 was made for SCS sketch challenge #126. I used this as an opportunity to cut into virgin rubber today - I've had this set for months and haven't used it or even opened the package yet. So today I mounted the dragonfly and used it for this project. I stamped it with Black Onyx Versafine - {if you don't have this ink yet you are really missing out.... it's the BEST black I've used yet! It stamps nice and crisp each time and inks the stamp evenly. Plus is cleans off the stamp so nicely}. I wanted to match colors up to the K&Company designer paper from Amy Butler {I have these paper packs on order and will carry them in the STORE shortly}. I used Vintage Violet, Lavender Lace, Always Artichoke, Old Olive, Black and Vanilla for the layers on this card.
-
Card #2 - This was created for sketch challenge 126. I used the Baby First set from My Favorite Things - Kim's stamps are so cool - I love her images, and the clear stamps are so easy to use. I colored the little lambs with opaque white pen - it's almost like a paint pen, but it's great for doodling and adding white to images on colored paper. I also used the colors from color challenge 116 (cool caribbean, garden green & chocolate chip). These colors matched up pretty good with the K&Company "Hopscotch" paper - this line is perfect for little boy cards!!

-
Card #3 - Created for Color Challenge 116 using hte same colors listed above. This was another unused set that I just cut into this week - it's not my usual style - but cute non-the-less! I had a really hard time with this one and kept adding more and more stuff to it until I was happy. That is my favorite stamping theory.... "If not happy add more!" As you can see I added lots to this one! My favorite part of this card is the caterpiller crawling through the faux grass at the bottom. I'm gonna make another card with the faux grass 'cause I think it is so cute!
-
Which card is your favorite? Leave me a comment and I'll post the winner in a few days. I'm gonna pick a random winner and they'll receive some good BLOG CANDY!!! This week's giveaway is a hodgepodge of ribbon, chipboard, card blanks and designer paper. I'll try to come up with a pretty, matched bundle of goodies. One last thing..... going into a meek voice here.....I'm really bad about sending things out on time, but I'm NOW all caught up on blog candy, swaps & RAKS - so if you're expecting something from me it's in the mail! Phew... glad that's off my chest!!

I am struggling between #1 and #3. I like the stamp in #1, but I love your composition and funky way of doing things in #3...so I guess I'll go with that one.

But frankly, they are all great!

This week is dragging for me. I thought it was Thursday all day yesterday, so......dejavu! (I had a great weekend of stamping over the long holiday weekend, so I'm looking forward to this weekend and that's making it drag.) I love card #2, the special delivery circle seems like a little ball rolling in to welcome the little one. And the row of eyelets along the side -- such an easy embellishment that, to me, has such an impact!.

DeniseLynn said...

Oh my! I can't pick just ONE. The second one is so pretty with those colors - I love the CC and CC but never thought to add the GG ... love it!! and the 3rd one is so detailed and just knocks my socks off. And yet the 1st one calls out to me, probably because I too have had that set for some time now but have yet to open it and mount them babies. You have truly inspired me (oh Gee I think I say that every time I post here). Anyway I'll chose #1 but all 3 are great.

Michelle, I love them all, but the bugs and kisses one is my favorite, maybe because I spent the last few days cutting out dozens of those little critters for a swap. The first one is beautiful! Well, heck, I would be thrilled if either of the three turned up in my mailbox.

Anonymous said...

Very hard to choose, but I can't resist that caterpiller in the grass in #3! #1 is running a close second, because I really love the colors. I've already had a lot of fun with that sketch, too. Great inspiration, thanks!

I really really like them all, but I'll have to go with #3. LOVE the grass and my two boys would think the bugs are cool. I haven't used my bugs and kisses set - now I need to get it out!

I don't want to pick one...I like all 3! But if I must, it would probably be #3 because of the caterpillar in the grass. No, wait, #1 because of the lovely color combo. No, I take that back, #2 because it's sop cute. No, #3. No...well, shucks. I just can't decide.

I'm a big fan of the last 2 cards. I think they're so adorable. I've had to hold off from getting the "Cute as a Bug" Stamp set myself... I think that the Little lamb card might edge out the bug card just a little to me. I think it's so darn cute and it could be pretty versatile. You could use it for a new baby or for Mother's or Father's Day even. So adorable--all of them. I love your work, they just give me so much inspiration!!

I love all of your creations! You have such a creative 'eye' for elements on your cards. My favorite is #3. All of them are great, but #3 has a really cool 'cutsie vintage' look to it, if that could be a new stamping technique! Love the catapiller!
