Rocket Dog Rocks!

I was flippin' through my daughters Teen Vogue magazine and saw this ad for Rocket Dog shoes and knew I had to try to copy it. It was a really tough one to replicate!! I LOVE the swirls and flourishes in the ad, and tried to get as close to the feel as I could on the card.
-
The flower has 2 layers of the Doodle This flower stamped on Stella Ruby background paper. I edged the flower in white gel pen for a little accent.
-
Up in the top right corner of the ad is a little saying curved around the top flourish, I used a clear stamp from My Favorite Things and curved it on my acrylic block to achieve this effect. That is one thing I really love about clear stamps - the ability to manipulate the image to fit different areas.
-
I've loved the entries to the challenge that I've received both in comment and emails - the Ad Inspired challenge is going to continue through the weekend - so grab a magazine, find an ad and GET INSPIRED!!
-
Today is my last day of "work" at my store!! I'm closing my real storefront and getting out of clothing retail..... I gotta admit that I'm not in the least bit sad! I'm looking forward to more time at home (especially the summer) and more time for stamping and artwork. I'm not looking forward to cleaning out the remaining stock and all my displays next week though!!
-
Leave a comment, make an ad inspired creation, and be entered to win my blog candy this week! And have a wonderful weekend!

This is simply gorgeous! I love where you find inspiration and I will be more aware now to find it wherever I look! I've even seen incredible baby bags (while working in the church nursery) that grab me and scream "CARD INSPIRATION!" Beauty is all around us...

thanks for the reminder!

Just a few days ago I received a Hallmark catalog in the mail and I was amazed at all of the items I found inside that were wonderful inspirations for cards. When I saw your post I realized this was the perfect time for me to get busy on those cards!

You can check out my first, of what I imagine, will be more cards based on designs in the Hallmark catalog on my blog: http://colorfulworld.blogspot.com.

Thanks!!

Great card - such creativity to use an ad for inspiration. I like getting sayings in magazines and then printing them out on the computer to use on/in my cards. Welcome to the world of us retirees. It's wonderful, except I now find myself wasting too much time because I can now say "there's always tomorrow..."
