Shopping Spree

I've been on a stamping shopping spree lately!! I just LOVE this set from My Favorite Things - it came in the mail a few days ago and convinced me to give up on the masculine challenge - not that it was a tough decision!! I have actually come to the realization that men don't need cards!!! I have never been more UNinspired to create than when I was trying to make guy cards. I have a list of ideas that I was going to use, but found I just didn't want to do it. So the Manly Challenge is officially OVER! Sorry!!
I will stick to NO FLOWERS for the rest of the week though in punishment for quitting my challenge early!
-
CARD DETAILS ---- This is a one layer card with Ruby Red as the base. I stamped the shopping girl image and waterolored it with ink pads and a blender pen. It's mounted on Summer Sun and secured to the basic grey layer with eyelets. It is the perfect size to fit a gift card. The little flap that says "time to shop" will open up when the photo anchor is slid aside reavealing an area to write a sentiment. I added little silver dots with a metallic pen all along the card edge. I really wanted to add some ribbon but couldn't find a good spot to put it?! So this one will just have to be ribbonless.
-
BLOG CANDY ALERT----- Today's giveaway is this card AND something from the shipment of BASIC GREY that is arriving today!!! I can't tell you what the something is yet, but I'm sure you'll love it!! All you have to do to enter is leave a comment on today's card! You can either leave an email address or blog address in your comment so I can get ahold of you, or check back tomorrow to see who wins!

BASIC GREY UPDATE - I have a few more paper bundles available for purchase on my website (http://store.clothingcorner.com/bagr6x6papa.html) - if you've already placed an order it will be shipped by Friday this week - thank you!!

This card is so pretty. I love the color combination. (By the way, I know what you mean about those darn masculine cards...they can be so very difficult.)

What fun! I just found your blog and am really enjoying it. You are filled with inspiration.
You are not in trouble with me in regard to the masculine cards. I feel that most men just don't appreciate the time and love that we put into creating something unique for them. Love this card, hope I win!
Thanks, Chris Hauck

OK you're off the hook on the man card challenge! *wink* I was just happy to see a couple ideas because I too feel un-inspired to do cards for men but with all those birthdays in my family I've got to push on (they ask about the hand-made ones because they all know about my cards!) Anyway I love this card today - very fun. I do so love your flower cards and I will be happy to see more of them in the near future. Oh do please pick me for the winner. Hee Hee

Can't say I blame you for giving up on making masculine cards even though I was one of the one's who voted for them. lol I definately agree, men don't need cards. lol

I really do love this card. When I first say the stamps by My Favorite Things, I really didn't care much for them. Now I am finding that the more cards I have seen with their images, I now have 2 sets that I want. lol Thanks so much for sharing.

I'm glad you strayed from your masculine challenge for this shopping card, it's so cute!

The consences obviously is we all have a hard time with manly cards. You inspired me with your black card -- making me realize that I can use what I have on hand but chose masculine colours. I love this stamp you used today too. I'm a new subscriber to your blog (and have followed you for several months now). Every day I patiently await my subscriptions to fall into my in-box, BUT, and I a big B-U-T, I sneak over and manually bring you up every day because I can't wait to see your latest creation.

I have seen this stamp on several blogs lately, but I just LOVE what you did with it! And the colors are yummy! TFS & thanks for the candy offer!

What a great idea for a gift card - love the colors and your use of photo anchor. I actually cased your idea for using a chipboard anchor instead of ribbon on that trifold triangle card! So much fun!

Anonymous said...

Gorgeous card - love the colors. Men are just too hard to scrap for. I love love love pink and orange and yellow frilly flower ribbony stuff and all I have is a little boy - he doesn't like the girly colors - I get to use all the pretty stuff for my girlfriends who definitely appreciate it!

Flower said...

LOL "Men don't need cards!" You had me rolling with that! I don't blame you for giving up.

Great card! Oh, and I really like the brown/tan & white backdrop for cards better, but kind of like the all white better for the 3-D or journals...just my 2 cents.

Jana Weaver said...

I have to agree with your comment that men don't need cards. I mean..what do they do with them? Throw them away!!! Such a waste of time and effort.

I love this card...I've been seeing this stamp all over the place lately, may have to break down and order it!!

Have a great day!

You made me laugh with your "men don't need cards" comment. This is a cute card.(even if it is not manly!

You're cracking me up by giving up on the man card challenge. Isn't it funny how men complain how hard it is to shop for women? They're really the hard ones. It's hard to make cards for them, shop for them, etc. Now stamping cards for women? Easy Peasy! Add some bling, some pretty patterned paper, prima's, etc.

Love your card. I know that stamps from MFT's are on my wishlist (that seems to be ever expanding)!

TFS!

Linda
