Phone Book

I've had this paper in my stash for weeks and haven't figured out what to do with it until now. The print is so big that it was hard to work into a card design, so I covered a notebook!
-
This started out as a $1 store notebook, the inside pages are blue, and it's not a color that I have any paper or ink to match, so I needed to come up with something colorful instead of matching. This paper was perfect because there is a little bit of the blue in the print. I broke the spiral binding when I took it off the book, it was cheap plastic and just fell right apart. I dug through my jewelry supplies (did I mention I used to by a jewelry designer?) and found some wire to wrap back through the holes. I wrapped it around a knitting needle - and it worked out perfectly!
-
The light olive green paper was the reverse side of the floral. I combined it with artichoke from SU. The chipboard oval is from Basic Grey's undressed chipboard, and the number sign is from the BG undressed number pile. Both are colored with liquid chalk.
-
I've been so messed up on days this week between the snowdays the girls have had, and not going to work because all the roads were closed - I completely missed Wednesday!! Today actually feels like MONDAY to me!! The winner this week is Nancy from Alberta, Canada - I just sent you an email asking for your address - Congratulations!
-
MORE BLOG CANDY... Because I completely forgot about Wednesday I'm going to give away an extra prize this week - someone will win this phone book too! Just leave a comment on this post (and email your friends so they can too or post a link in your own blog) - I'll be picking the winner on Monday!

i cannot wait to get home from work this evening so i can "create!" some days i even get depressed looking at all this beautiful art, and here i am stuck in a dirty, loud, cold airplane plant, where i am a material clerk. it's a great job, very well paying...but there is no place like home...uh i mean my studio! everybody have fun stamping this weekend! thanks for sharing this beautiful project, Michelle!

I love the idea you came up with to replace the cheap plastic, what a great idea. What gauge of wire did you use?

I will give it a try....WOW, what a book. You always use such beautiful colors. I get so many ideas from you. I did a birthday card using the Michaels Coaster, similar to yours, it turned out so good I kept it....had to do a quicky card for the birthday person. Anyways, hope you are surviving the snow, not to rub it in (to much) but here in Northern California it was 75 today...sorry, the only problem is it makes it hard to stay inside and make cards; I will enjoy it while I can, the sun is suppose to go away on Sunday and rain....its so nice of you to give this away, hope I win, but if not, I hope the one who does will really enjoy it.

Tell me about it... Monday and we have a three day weekend! I'm really confused! lol

I had to laugh at you breaking the binding but then I was gasping in awe on how you fixed it. Would never had thunk of using a knitting needle to hold the shape. You are too good!
