Decorated Card Tin

It's my birthday today, so I'm allowed to stray a bit from my Watercolor Week challenge. Today I went over to my friend Arin's house (Arinstamps on SCS) and we made decorated lunchbox tins. I used the Au Chocolat paper from the SU spring mini and combined it with colors from rich regals.... tempting turquoise, rose red and so saffron.
-
The flowers are from "You make me Happy" - I just love this set!! I thought they brightened up the chocolate paper a little bit. I really love the ribbons though... I always put my ribbons on first and then base my paper designs on my ribbon palette. CARDS was stamped using my Whimsical Alphabet. I also added some ink colored chipboard under the flowers and highlighted it with silver dots.
-
We had such a fun afternoon making these tins... our lunch was Bloody Mary's - or as we considered them.... Salad in a Glass!! We added spicy V-8, olives, celery, pickles and pearl onions.... they were pretty yummy!! And of course we finished off the lunch with a little mocha ice cream... Just perfect {{{thanks Arin!!}}}
-
Before I forget in my ramblings... the winner of the weekly giveaways was Annikki.... congratulations!! I will also be emailing you to get your address.
-
I haven't heard from the winner of the phone book yet, so I will be giving that away again tomorrow.... so leave a comment on this entry to win the phone book. See http://twisted-chick.blogspot.com/2007/02/phone-book.html to take a peek!

Thanks for reading!

About that card tin --- WOW! I can't believe how different that Au Chocolat paper looks with all of those beautiful colors. Now I HAVE to get that paper and play! Simply Gorgeous! And what a cool idea to do the ribbons first...I always save them for last. Just goes to show how different minds process things!
